Wow. I am so happy to see of someone who has survived this from birth. My daughter Lily Anna Brazell died three hours after birth on November 5, 2007. An autopsy revealed she had Congenital Neuroblastoma that had spread to her liver. The tumor on her right adrenal gland ruptured during birth and she passed shortly thereafter. It wasn't until after she passed and the autopsy was done that we knew what went wrong.
God bless you, Chad and your entire family.

What an amazing story. What a difference being diagnosed so early makes with this terrible disease. My only wish is that more babies are diagnosed this early instead of being 3 years old, as my son was, having given the cancer years to spread and destroy our babies little bodies.

It is wonderful to read success stories with a disease that claims so many lives.

Thank you for sharing Chad's story and God bless you all.

Tanner is now NED and has been since October of last year he will be 2 on october 30th. If you would like to read his journal please go to www.caringbridge.org/ny/tannergilbert. Hi... I found your site through a "friend". Long story, but three years ago, I lost a child, Chayton, to an ATRT Rhabdoid brain tumor. It is also very rare and very aggressive. Because of Chayton, we decided to start a foundation... My entire family lives in Iowa and my parents sent me the information on a little boy in their area who was recently dx with Neuroblastoma Stage 4. I did what I could and searched everywhere to find support for them and WOW! I found a family only three small towns over that lost a son in November to Neuroblastoma Stage 4. I called the family and we talked last night. They told me about this site and I came here lurking around to get information. I saw Chad's picture and read his story. It gives me hope to know that 22 years later, here he is cancer free. (Told you it was a long story). Anyway, God bless you all for all that you have been through. DEAR KAREN, YOUR STORY, AND YOUR MIRACLES, REALLY TOUCHES MY HEART. YOU HAVE BEEN TRULY BLESSED.. YOU HAVE A VERY SPECIAL CHILD''' GOD TEST'S OUR FAITH, WITH TRIAL'S WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH. TO SEE IF WE TURN TO HIM, LEAN ON HIM, TRUST IN HIM, OR TURN ON HIM, AND SHUT HIM OUT... MANY PEOPLE HAVE DONE THAT.. THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY MAKE IT THROUGH THEIR TRIAL'S WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH... I CAN'T BEGIN TO PICTURE MY LIFE WITHOUT GOD... HE'S MY EVERY BREATH I TAKE, MY LIFE, MY SOUL,MY SAVIOR, I BELONG TO HIM, WE ALL DO . HE'S OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN WHO LOVES US SO MUCH... I CAN TELL FROM YOUR STORY, THE TERRIBLE STORM YOU WENT THROUGH, GOD WAS WITH YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. GAVE YOU STRENGHT TO GO ON , WHEN YOU FELT YOU COULDN'T ANYMORE...HE CARRIED YOU THE REST OF THEY WAY WHEN YOU COULDN'T WALK ANYMORE. THAT'S WHY THERE WAS ONLY ONE SET OF FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND... YOU HAD MANY PEOPLE , PRAYING FOR YOU, GOD HEARD EVERY PRAYER.. HE NEVER MISSES ONE CALL FOR HIS HELP... JUST LIKE THE SONG ''AMAZING GRACE ''HOW SWEET THE SOUND, I ONCE WAS LOST BUT NOW I'M FOUND... GOD'S BEAUTIFUL LOVE STAYS IN YOUR HEART ALWAYS, ONCE YOU INVITE HIM IN, HE STAYS WITH YOU AS LONG AS YOU WANT HIM, LOVE HIM, SERVE HIM, THANK HIM,AND GOD LOVES TO HEAR YOU SAY I LOVE YOU DEAR JESUS'''YOU HAVE A VERY PRECIOUS GIFT FROM GOD..AND NOW YOUR HEART IS FILLED WITH LOVE FOR OTHERS, BECAUSE YOU ARE REACHING OUT TO EVERYONE YOU CAN, IN EVERY WAY YOU KNOW HOW... WHEN I GOT HIT WITH MENIERES DISEASE, AND ALL MY OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS. COULDN'T WORK ANYMORE, I MISSED PEOPLE, I WANTED TO REACH OUT TO SOME. SO I PICKED A NURSING HOME. WRAPPED UP 100 CHRISTMAS GIFTS'' REAL PRETTY, AND WENT ON CHRISTMAS DAY , ROOM TO ROOM, TO GIVE A GIFE TO EVERY PERSON, SAID MERRY CHRISTMAS, HUGGED THEM, AND GAVE THEM A KISS. KAREN THEIR EYES LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE.. THEY CRIED HAPPY TEARS OF JOY.. SO MANY OF THEM HAD FAMILY, BUT WOULDN'T TAKE THE TIME TO GO SEE THEIR LOVE ONES IN THE NURSING HOME ON CHRISTMAS DAY.. IT WAS SO HEART BREAKING, BUT WHAT I DID, THE STAFF WAS SO TOUCHED WITH WHAT I DID FOR THE PEOPLE , THEY PUT IN IN THE NEWSPAPER.. I GOT THEM TO SING CHRISTMAS SONGS''' THEY CALLED ME THEIR CHRISTMAS ANGEL, AND ASK ME PLEASE COME BACK TO SEE THEM.. I TAKE MY SCOOTER TO GO SEE THEM.. THEY STILL CALL ME THEIR CHRISTMAS ANGEL.. WHEN I LEFT THE JOY IN MY HEART, SANG, FELT SO WARM, I FELT SO GOOD, BECAUSE I GAVE THEM A GIFT, AND GAVE MYSELF, AND GAVE THEM ALL THE LOVE GOD GAVE MY , MY CUP WAS RUNNING OVER WITH LOVE.. I'M NEVER EMPTY... THING'S THAT HAPPEN TO US , MAKES US WANT TO REACH OUT MORE TO PEOPLE BECAUSE, PEOPLE REACHED OUT TO YOU, WHEN YOU NEEDED THEM... SO KAREN, YOU WERE ONE OF THE PEOPLE, LIKE THE SONG'' PEOPLE WHO NEED PEOPLE ARE THE LUCKIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD'''YOUR WHOLE FAMILY, ARE A VERY SPECIAL FAMILY, TO GOD, THE PEOPLE YOU SHARED YOUR STORY WITH.. AND IT KEEPS ON GROWING... YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE KAREN... WE ARE ALL WITH YOU, IN OUR HEARTS, PRAYERS, OUR MINDS ALWAYS KAREN.. REMEMBER YOU HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY..FOREVER.. I LOVE YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY KAREN..I KNOW WE JUST MET , BUT I FEEL LIKE I HAVE KNOWN YOU FOR A LONG TIME.. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT, AND PRAYERS KAREN, YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON.. I'M TRYING NOT TO BE SCARED ABOUT MY MAJOR SURGERY ON SEPTEMBER 22ND 2004, KAREN, I HAVE FAITH 100 PERCENT IN GOD, BUT I'M STILL SCARED, DOES THAT MEAN I DON'T TRUST HIM ?? I DO TRUST HIM WITH ALL MY HEART, SO I FEEL I SHOULDN'T BE SCARED, BUT I AM, AND THAT WORRIES ME .. I HOPE AND PRAY GOD DON'T FEEL LIKE I DON'T HAVE FAITH IN HIM, OR TRUST HIM. BECAUSE IN MY HEART I DO .. SO WHY AM I SCARED?? TAKE CARE KAREN. GOD BLESS YOU, AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY.. GOD IS SHINING IS BEAUTIFUL LOVE .. DOWN UPON ALL OF YOU.. YOUR FRIEND FOREVER. Thank you for telling us about your story. Parents of NB children need hope; most importantly faith. Our son was diagnosed at 5 weeks of age.

Hey there Chad, Charlie, Karen and all of you guys.

I saw Karen's message in our guestbook and thought I'd go say hi. No chemo, no radiation?! Maaaaaan, you missed all the fun!
But seriously, I'm real glad you're there now and doing fine. Hope you'll have a nice life. If it started like THAT, man, it just MUST be good all the time after. :-) I wish you just that.
Stay cool.

Karen and Chad, I can't begin to say to you what it means to read about Chad. It gives hope and insperation to others. I am Grandma Gail on the list. I know Chad is grown up now, but i send him a Sweet Hug and Kiss. I know it sounds silly but it means a lot to me. The tears are here, blessings to your family. We have a Sweet Angel Luke, he is our grandson, he left us on Feb.8 the day before his 6th. birthday. The tears are of joy for Chad.
Sweet Hugs From The Sweets & Sweet Angel Luke, always
