July 13 2004- early morning

Hello all,
Thank you so much for visiting our page.
Chad was a normal looking baby with a" swelled" stomach.
the doctors took tests after tests & could not find what was wrong in Johnstown, Pa.@ 3 days old they sent Chad to Childrens hospital in pittsburgh.( where they did more tests) They did a bone marrow test & discovered it!
Dr Wiener,head surgeon,came to us & said he had neuroblastoma on the adrenal gland.
NEURO---WHAT! I SAID. Adre--what-- where.lamans terms doc, i said.
At 9 days old they removed a tumor the size of a 50cent piece(at that age the liver is only the size of the face of a small watch.) We thought Chad was fine when we returned for check-up Dr.Wiener admitted Chad again for cells turned into tumors in his liver. most of the first 6 months of chads life was very "IFFY"& his "home" was the hospital.
He recieved protien potassium,IV's everywhere.But the main treatment he recieved was X-ray therapy. He was too little for chemo or anything@ that time of technology.
After the first 6 months, Chad started remission,they didnt use the term NED back then, By the Grace of God,& i am a thankful mom everyday for you see I was Blessed with 2 boys( Charles ) is 19 months older than Chad& Chad has been NED for 21 & half years.soon 22yrs.Chad was born november 22,1981, he lives in Oliver Springs, tn on his own.lives a normal life no meds nothing!!
o Dear Lord I think I can say with God's Grace,our faith & prayers, we kicked some serious cancer butt! Well Chad did!
there is hope there are survivors, long term ones too!
I pray for all our babies for a cure for this terrible disease. it makes me so happy when i read CUrrently NED!!!
i forgot to tell you Chad had stage 4 s, neuroblastoma. the Doctor even said he's a miracle! higher power saved him.
i think i can say I have a miracle Child. wish they all were.

Thank you to all the staff@ Childrens Hospital Of Pittsburgh for the great care they took of Chad,especially those on 3 infant surgical.& special care unit.& we cant forget Dr, eugene Wiener.

Thank you for my Grandma & pappygrouch for helping with getting us to Pittsburgh to take care of Chad.

Thank You to friends & family who watched Charlie while we went to see Chad.

Thank you to the special friends who talked me into creating this page & helping me with it.

well all its that time of year again where I cry tears of joy !another year soon will go by & Chad will be a quarter of a Century old all.which means he will be 24 yrs NED yeee haa yall! Cancer is tough but CHad is so much Tougher .please sign our guestbook we love hearing from all.

Happy Thanksgiving all. I have sssooo much to be thankful for,today is a special thanksgiving day cause it happens to be Chad's 25th anniversary ( year) of being Neuroblastoma free!
Amen!!! & also his 26th Birthday! wow,what a Blessing to have a Miracle.
So Humbly i say Happy Birthday My Miracle son,I love you.Never hurts for mama's to say i love you no matter how old they r & have families of their own!
Still Praying for a cure!

Great joy comes to me on this day every year.I am ever so thankful To God for another NED(no evidence of disease) yr (27 yrs) for chad to be cancer free.
Chad is 28 today -Happy Birthday son I love you& miss you.
Chad lives in Oak Ridge,Tn & its been awhile since we could get together.
here comes the tears as always so i better go. lol.

I count My Blessings everyday. On November 22,Chad turned 29,Happy Birthday Son.Many People celebrate a 29th Birthday but not all can say that on their Birthday it means they are another year Cancer -free,28 yrs Neuroblastoma free all! AMEN!!!
so many of our children never see that age,especially when they are stage 4s.We need a cure!
