Hi Colleen! I can't believe it has been so long since I've visited Kaity's site. So good to see how well you are all doing, and wonderful to hear about "bubs"!!!! I have to thank you for being an awesome encouragement when Tanner was dx over two years ago now. Kaity gave us great hope when we saw how well she was managing. I would come to read your updates when we needed to know that there could be "normal" things in life after getting an NB diagnosis.
Bless you,
Tanner's Aunt Katie

Dear Kaitlyn -

I'm not sure how I ended up on your web site this morning -I just typed the words "share the love" in google and ended up here; then was drawn to your page.

Anyway, I wanted to say hello while I was here. Hello!

My friend Debi just started a six month course of chemo for colon cancer. She is a grown up person; but I think she still at times feels alone on this journey through cancer. All of you and your parents on this web site are an inspiration! I'm sure trying to help Debi remember that she isn't alone and that healing happens every day - even in what appears to be the "worst" of circumstances. Bad stuff is just an illusion...Life is Good...God is Good... all the time! God blesses you in every moment of each day.

Continue to be well!
Love and Blessings,
Jacqui

Hi, I noticed your comment on the Big Picture article about Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and I came to visit your page. Kaitlyn is a beatiful girl! I thought I would pass this information along to you.

We would like you to visit and consider joining the People Against Childhood Cancer community. We are a network of over 900 parents, friends, family, concerned citizens and childhood cancer organizations (CureSearch, Alex's Lemonade Stand and more) whose sole mission is to present a unified voice to raise awareness of childhood cancer. The website format is unique, you can have friends, post photos and videos, blog, participate in Forum discussions, start or join Groups that interest you, chat live with other members, and promote or learn about fundraisers. It's free, interactive and will continue to evolve.

While these features are nice, our focus is action to raise awareness of childhood cancer. One initiative is the Petition to Raise Awareness of Childhood Cancer . It has over 16,000 signatures and will be used to hopefully leverage a network TV special solely on childhood cancer or a similar high profile project. Other ideas and action items are presented daily in our ongoing effort to raise awareness.
It was the work of some wonderful, hard-working members from the group that got the article in The Big Picture (with the help of the writer, of course).

Please visit and join us at http://curechildhoodcancer.ning.com.

PS If you join or already part of the PAC2, please send me a hello (Jessica Greenfield). Thanks so much.

I understand your journey. My son, Brady, was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma shortly after he turned 3 in 1993. It had spread from his ankles to his skull and his bone marrow was 95% cancer cells. His prognosis was about 18% for survival. He went through Chemo, radiation, surgery, bone marrow transplant and MIBG therapy. We never gave up hope. He will turn 18 in 3 more months. Every day is an adventure. Keep the faith.

Hello,
I'm Patricia. My girl 2 years 6 months is diagnosed with stage 3 NB, non amplified but with 1p- and 17q+. Both my husband and I cried so much for the first two months. She is everything we had. We are so proud of her every day. All of you are so dearly to your parents... so pls fight this awful disease. Although the relapse rate is high, I think with the correct diet and exercises, things will look good. Parents who kids have NB, feel free to liaise with me at patchialim@hotmail.com. We need each other suppport to pull through these difficult time. Even when treatment is over, the kids have GTR and given a big green light into remission, we must be vigilant for them. God bless.

Hi Kaitlyn

I know you don’t know me, but my name is John Raschke. I am also known as Grandpa John, or just Gj by all of my Little Buddies. Who are my Little Buddies? Well, my Little Buddies are all of the children suffering from Neuroblastoma, and their families. So if you don’t’ mind, I be honored if I could call you my Little Buddy – This is of course the word buddy means the same in Australia as it does here in the USA. I’d never want to offend anyone, especially you. - Thanks…

After reading your journal I just have to tell you how courageous I think you and your family are. I wish I had a magic bullet that would just Kick Neuroblastoma’s butt and that the doctors would find a cure. Well I am sad to say that I don’t have that type of magic, and it just hurts my heart really bad to see you or any of my little buddies suffer so. It hurt so much that I just had to do something. And that something is that decided to raise funds for neuroblastoma research and donate it to the Band of Parents who is partnering with the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where the wonderful doctors are working very hard to find a cure. While I raise donations, I also decided that I would run ultra marathons and other types of running races to honor my all of my little buddies. You can read about it here:

http://www.runningforthecure@blogspot.com/

So, this is my promise to you and your family: I will continue to run and raise donations for the cause until my legs get too old or tired to run, then I’ll just have to let my heavenly Father carry me onward in my racing till the cure is found…Yep! That’s my promise to you and I’ll keep it.

And keep peeking at my Blog for I am going to run my next race in your honor. So, would you please ask your Mom if I can copy one of your pictures because I want to plastic coat it and wear in around my neck when I run my next race. It’s the “Flirts with Dirt trail race and for that race, I’ll be running 10K, or 6.2 miles - Looking forward to hearing from you.

God Bless You and Your Family, I am Praying for you Daily

Grandpa John

PS: Did I tell you how cute and pretty I think you are? Why, you’re the prettiest butterfly in the garden for sure (Shhh! Don’t tell anyone I said that cause if Missus Gj finds out she just might tickle me to no end).

Hello from California

We do not know you but happened to find your website and wanted to know more about other families who are dealing with this terrible disease as today we are in mourning for our friends the Brunskows. We are good friends and have been in the neighborhood near Nina, Paul & Eden here in So. Cailf. (Nina & I met through the local Moms Club when the girls were babies), we are so devastated for their loss, Eden was such a gift we will miss her terribly! My daughter was so upset when we told her the news we all cried and as I tried to tell her more of the great things we learned from Eden, we smiled & we cried some more and Lauren finally said "Mom we need to stop crying because you can't think straight and your mind gets all fuzzy when you cry too much and we don't think of the good things"
My eight year old! I thought wow how much she has learned from Eden's struggle! We had cried all so much when little Eden was first diagnosed, she seemed to be such a great fighter with such a great spirit, its so hard to understand why, this was Laurens question, why why Mommy, it is the most difficult thing, okay enough I will not keep going on. (Like Nina Lauren is my only daughter)

It was so up-lifting to hear your story and know that you are doing so well. Stay strong and may God bless you with good health and clean scans too! You are in our prayers now too.

Hi Kaitlyn & Family, Thank you for signing Brice King's website. We pray for you and pray for all the kids with NB. We are are connected now by this cancer. My grandson, Brice was diagnosed with Stage 4 Nb and I have been looking for kids with the same cancer. Just wanted to know their treatment and what hospitl they are at. We know the relapse rate is very high so we want to do what we can so this doesn;t happen to him. Thinking of you and praying also. God Bless You and Your Family

Dear, Precious Kaitlyn,
I just visited your site, after visiting Cooper Proscia's. I feel like I just left a group of amazing, wonderful folks who were gathered around, and being warmed by, even more amazing, strong, mesmerizing, burning-bright fires! Thank you, dear Kaitlyn, for inviting me into your warm, cozy electronic home. It makes me sad that you and your loved ones have had to battle as you have, but it makes me glad that you have been able to love and care for others, and be loved and cared for, too. I see so many young people who are not nearly so lucky...so many folks who don't get to experience that smidgen of heaven on earth. I think, perhaps, you have and will. I think I have and will too, and it makes me so excited about heaven: how great it's going to be! How thankful I am that God loves you and me so...that he's laid that path to heaven--here and hereafter--through His loving son, Jesus Christ. I praise Him a lot and cast my worries and concerns upon Him too. For sure, I will be talking to Him about you, dear Kaitlyn. May He bless and keep you and yours always. "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God." (Romans 8:38-39) From California with love,

Thanks for the guestbook entry. I'm going to add you to our list of special friends who share this neuroblastoma.

I'm so glad I came across your page tonight. I've been keeping track of as many NB sites as I can get my hands on, in an effort to start communication with each and every one. Yours is my first. In reading your messages, I'm glad you encourage visitors to sign your guestbook. I feel the same about those who visit my daughter's site; they may not know what to say or write, but it sure makes our day to know someone out there is thinking about our family and all we're going through. As I looked at your daughter's pictures, I saw only beauty and grace. She is a precious girl, fighting with so many others. I admire the courage and bravery of your family and I will keep Kaitlyn in my daily thoughts. Hi There Pony Girl!
Wow - what a glowing school report! I think your award is absolutely wonderful. It shows that the school now sees what we've all known for a looooong time - that you're a really super kid!

What fun, too, to lose a tooth just as Santa was coming! I wonder if he and the Tooth Fairy plan those things, or just wing it like the rest of us. And I wonder if they meet up under the Christmas Tree. Now THAT would be a conversation worth listening in to, don't you think?

Caroline says "Hi" - and wants me to tell you that she lost a tooth, too. Actually, she's down TWO teeth, right now. Do you know the words to "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth?" Caroline certainly does - it's all she's been singing for the past two weeks! I hope she learns a new one soon, or it's going to be a looooong New Year!

Speaking of which - Happy New Year to you and your whole family. I'm sure it will be filled with ...

Love and Rainbow Smiles for You All,
Dawn and Caroline Dorsett

Hi There Pony-Girl!
I'm so glad Caroline and I stopped by to say, "Hi!" I told her you were worried about Santa and the picture, and Caroline told me to tell you "Right NOW!" not to worry. She says that Santa knows that everybody has sad days - and he comes anyway. She even reminded me that she wouldn't sit on Santa's knee AT ALL until just last year - and he always came to see her on Christmas Eve. In fact, she thinks he felt sad that she was scared, because he left her a nice note. She thought that was pretty cool - and so did her big brother!

Merry Christmas (Almost!) Special Pony-Girl. We hope your Christmas is absolutely WONDERFUL - just like YOU!

Love and Rainbow Smiles to You All,
