Know that I am thinking of you all and I will be praying hard for good scan results. I know it is hard being in a "holding pattern" but I am believing that the next results will be great! Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers to all!

Hello,

I found the link to Wyatt's site on Jacob's website. I will now add Wyatt and family to my prayer list and to my list of caring bridge families to check on. I believe in the power of prayer and will pray without ceasing for good results on little Wyatt. For those of you who follow Jacob's progress, if you have not checked his site today please do so. God is working a miracle in him! We'll pray he does the same for Wyatt. Your friends in Michigan. The Bullock family.

To the Rech Family,
We are thinking of you always, but especially during these trying times. Thanks for all of your support, suggestions, answers, and groceries you've provided during our first month of cancer. It's nice to be able to talk to others who understand how things can look fine when they are really not. We appreciate all your help.

Wyatt:
You are an inspiration. Your smile and energy makes me believe that you can live with and survive cancer as ugly as it is and sounds. I love your pictures and watching you run around whenever we see you. You are a tough guy and such a survivor and good sport. Keep up the good work. Caite loves playing with you.

You guys are in our thoughts and prayers.

Wyatt, I am not surprised you did such a good job yesterday because you are such a good boy.

Kris, I am thinking positive thoughts today. It is great the doctor is being very thorough. I know it won't do any good to say don't worry. It is just impossible. Just try to keep as many happy thoughts in your head today as possible. Just take a look at Wyatt as he is running around picking on his brothers and sister and laugh. We will be thinking of you lots and saying our prayers and hoping you get the good news very soon. Remember you can call me anytime. Don't be like that other lady we know that won't call. LOL. Love and hugs to you all.

Kris,
I just wanted to say what a beautiful job you did on the dedication to Hanna. I remember those pictures a while back. This disease is so awful and scary it makes you sick. Why so many children have to suffer, I will never understand. Thanks for sharing the pictures they are wonderful.

Hi Wyatt and family,
Dropping by to say hello. What beautiful photos of the kids. I hate cancer, and I hate the fact that I have met so many oncologists who take Wilms so lightly. "Wilms is the best cancer you can have. You shouldn't have any complications." I have lost count how many times I have heard this. Meanwhile we keep loosing our babies, or they are relapsing. Will it ever end???

Hello Wyatt,
Thank yall forthe email in my web page and yes I would love to become part of yall family. Sorry it took while to get back to yall but been back and forth to MD Anderson in Houston. The Dr's reports from the last test they did they say it is all clear for now. Now it is a wait and see if it ever shows up again. I go back on 23rd to meet with the Dr. and see what kind of treatment and when and hopefully he will refure me back here to Dr's in Opelousas near my home town to do the treatments because it will take a month when they first start the treatments 5 days a week. then after that it will be 2 or 3 times a week with a shot. Well keep praying and stay strong that is what will get us all thrue this terrible thing and one day they will find a cure for it all so their want be any reacurance to anybody but we are lucky they are getting closer and better every day. Good luck and will keep in touch. and Gabby is a little angle. she keeps us laughing and smiling. Oh by the way I am her uncle with Melanoma cancer.

It was so wonderful to see you on Saturday at the reunion, we had a great time! The boys have really grown in three years, and yet it doesn't seem like its been that long. Gerry had all kinds of questions about Wyatt after we left, he really thinks its cool that he also has a Gator.
Sorry to hear Carter is sick, hope he's feeling better!

Hi Wyatt, and Kris-
Thank you so much for your words of support for Miss Ellie Anna. As you know it makes all the diffrence. I to have had conversations with people who don't understand why I spend " so much time" checking up with cancer kids and there families. Some say it will only make me more nervous for Ellie. It's sad when people think they know whats best for you, when you know that it's not. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't continue to comunicate with the very families that have pulled us through the darkest times. Not to mention the new families I hope I can lend support to.
I'm sorry to hear about all of your troubles at clinic. Sometimes that's what it takes to throw you over the edge. All you can sometimes do is pray!

For you parents

God Made You For A Reason

When I look upon my screen
I find a happy reason
the joy that comes to me from you
is gratitude so very pleasing...

What a wonderful creator
that made a friend like you,
He placed a sweet kind person
and gave me lots of comfort too.

A world without your kindness
would be a sad sad world.

But I don't have to worry,
there's no need to be,
because of you I am very happy,
and that's good enough for me.

I've found great people everywhere,
they come into my life.
Just like you, all those others too,
have given me delight.

So I thank God I met you,
I thank him for all seasons.
Now I know for sure with all my heart,
GOD Created YOU for a reason.

Hi Wyatt and all... This is long lost Uncle Joe...Our computer is still broke and they just got internet back at work so I had to "stop by" and say HI !!! Not a whole lot going on here...Zeah was the birthday bunny this year...hard to believe that she is seven...Justins 16 !!! Does that make you feel old or what? We are all excited to have Ali come down to visit...can't wait...for Zeah to stop asking,"When is Ali going to be here?" Grandma is going to have trouble taking her away I'm sure. It sounds as if you all have been busy and Spring has sprung...get the flowers planted and clean up the yard time. Enjoy all you can and the heck with the rest...take care, Your in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Y!

AWESOME news to hear your scans were clear and that your tumor marker tests have improved. Sorry about all the extra stress from clinic :( Yes advocating for changes in your clinic or elsewhere would be a great thing. It saddens me that you had to go through all the extra waiting and fuss. Sorry its been awhile since we've been by but just know you all are always in our thoughts and prayers. We wish you all a Very Blessed Easter in Celebration of our Risen Lord!

Kris and family,

I am so glad the tests came back good. After reading stories about other clinics, I realize how lucky we were. We never left the clinic on test days without knowing the results of blood tests, scans, etc. I sure hope you either find a new clinic or yours gets their s@#t together. Jess got her package yesterday. She loved it. Thanks so much. Kris, you are an amazing women. All that you have going with your own kids and you still find time to take care of others. Thanks so much. I hope you are feeling a little better. Hugs to all.

Kris,

It's good to see that Wyatt's had positive results from his scans/tests. Clinic life is so hard. Our clinic is the same way. You would hope that is wasn't common, but it is. Frustrating.

Hope you have a better week. Hope that these families will have some comfort somewhere.

Kris, Hope you are feeling better! Missed the chat last night. Glad to hear that Wyatt's scan results were good!!!!
I didn't realize that he still has his port a cath in. Makes it easier for the blood draws, but hard when they have a fever. It's unfortunate that the clinic keeps messing up. How far away do you live? We live two hours (on a good day) away from Andy's onc. clinic. Fortunately, we didn't have any mess ups that caused us to have to return to the clinic after going home. Also, we are able to have our ultrasounds and blood draws near home now that we are doing followup testing for BWS(he still has his CT's done in Pittsburgh). I've come to figure that they do make mistakes and I just try to do my best to keep Andy on schedule with his testing and finding our results. Big hugs, I know how worried you are about our group's families! Stacy, mom to Andy age 3 dx bilateral wilms 7/2002

Hey Rech family!! Great news about the test results getting better!! Any little bit of a drop is great news!! Isn't there a Board of Directors or the Administration that you can lodge a complaint with? Maybe if all of you complain, they might do their job!! Pretty sad when you seem to be the only people that care when your sons blood work leaves the building! It isn't their child, and if it was they would be on a chair screaming to get the blood work done, so you can have the test results back, so it would be one less thing to stress about! Next time bring some sleeping bags with, that would make a point!! Sorry to hear about Haley, such sad journals from her mother!! I will keep her in my thoughts, along with the Jirik and Hansen families!!! Take care!!

We will pray over the team there and ask God to give them patience and wisdom and an extra measure of mercy for the kids! HI Kris, I just joined Wyatt's group and wanted to visit your caringbridge site. Our families are alot alike. I have a 12 yo daughter and a 10yo son who play basketball/soccer, and football restpectively. Wyatt's photo looks alot like Andy at a sporting event...sometimes watching with a look of boredom, but sometimes running, jumping, playing with other sibs, etc. We believe, but the geneticists haven't been able to positively confirm through testing, that Andy has BWS also. Have your older children been tested? I want to have our older son tested as he has some subtle signs of BWS as well. Hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day, we did!!! Thanks for starting Wyatt's group, I hope to be able to join in the chat on Wednesday, we'll see though!!!! Stacy mom to Andy age 3 dx bilateral wilms 7/2002 www.caringbridge.org/pa/andrew

Kris, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your entry. Wow - did not know u were keeping an eye out for Wilms - I can't even imagine having so many scans clear for so long and then to get hit with the fact. I am praying that the markers go down. I know you have to go by what the AFP says, but I'm still pretty sure it is just a 'screen' with a high percentage of false-positives (something like 33%?) But I am praying for Wyatt to be cancer free!

Hi Wyatt, I know its been a while since I sent you a note, but I think about you alot and wish you nothing short of happiness and good health. You are a very special little guy. I saw your picture with you laying on the bleachers at the game and it made me laugh. I probably would have done the same thing. You are always in my thoughts and prayers and I'll have to come visit some time soon. If you come up my way, maybe mom will stop and let you play on the forklifts. You are always a day brightener for me. Kris, I don't know if you are still following Brianna Hestekins CaringBridge web page, but things could be getting serious again for her. You might want to check it out. I'll talk to you guys soon. Say hi to Jim for me. I miss you guys. I'll try to be more consistent with staying in touch. Bye for now. Jan T

Kris, Jimmy and Family- You and your family have had a rollercoaster of a year. When you read what has happened in a year, you wonder how anyone could endure it, and we couldn't without God's being there. It reminds me of Foot prints in the Sand. At times, I'm positive God does carry us, and there are only one set of foot prints!! We will continue to pray for your family daily. God bless you all. Fred, Edith & Kelly Jandro

Hi Wyatt!
This is your long lost uncle Joe checking in on you. I have had some computer virus that totalled my computer...so I thought that I'd take a break from studying for my national certification exam and drop you a note. I hope that your tests came back with good news and we want you to come down to visit us someday....How about tomorrow. We have some snow for you to play in! Not much going on here...Zeah wants school to be over so mom and dad don't "wreck my dreams"...very crabby when you have to wake her up. Grandma said that she might bring Ali to visit this summer...we can't wait...would enjoy seeing you all though. Stay safe and know that we are all still praying for you guys. Lots of love...Joe,Nikki,Bleiz&Zeah.

Love the pictures. Boy those kids really keep you busy. I love the picture of Wyatt. It is funny because one of my favorite pictures or Emily is of the backside of her. You can't even see her face but it is cute the way she is standing. Thank you so much for all you have done for me and so many others. Wyatts Friends has been a wonderful thing for me. Hi Rech family!! Hopefully Wyatt's test results will be better next time!! Thank you for sharing your experience!! It was very emotional to read!!! And why doesn't it surprise me that you refused to leave your child? That's what I like about you Kris...you won't let anybody push you around, you get answers and results!! You have to be Wyatt's advocate, since nobody in the medical field is going to be! And that nurse that didn't send out the test...what BS!! Sidetracked my butt, it's part of her job and she knows that!! I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall, I'm sure you gave her hell!!!!!!!! You go girl!! Take care and Kris thank you again for letting us know how things happened a year ago. You and your family have been through so much and I think it makes you stronger and closer!! Have a great day!!!!

Kris, I'm sending you hugs from Ohio. Having to relive diagnosis day over and over in your mind is so awful. I do it everyday and it always makes me get teary eyed. Then I look at how far Harlei has come and what she has and will accomplish and I am so proud of her. Nothing makes it any easier but all I can do is look forward and do everything I can for her to get well and stay well. On the day Harlei was dx. we had a hard time w/ veins and ivs too. The nurse had to eventually put on in under Harlei's toenail. She was in CT and her arm was huge from the contrast b/c her line blew and they tried 3 more times in various spots then I told them to stop. We already had her MRI which dx. the brain tumor and they ordered a CT b/c they thought she also had a mass on her lungs. (fortunately it turned out to be a shadow) So I asked if it really necessary at this time b/c Harlei was hysterical as we were too. It's so upsetting what our kids endure. Most of the nurses are great, then their are a few who need to not work with kids. Anyways, I love you guys and hope and pray for the numbers to be in normal range. Wish we lived closer so we could both have our daily cry together. Lots of hugs, thoughts, and prayers, Angelique and girls

Kris and Wyatt,

Just stopping to say hello and check in. I am praying that your tumor tests get better. I hope they go down and you will not have to deal with this again. I share your feelings about the past year. I remember that night of original diagnosis like it was yestarday. It scares me so much, but it is an experiance that I would not trade. I have learned so much from this. My husband has made the ultimate transformation because of this. He use to take life for granted and now he cherishes every minute of everyday with his family. I wish that this kind of thing never had to happen to anyone. Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers always.

Rech Family, Hi! Sorry to hear about Griffin losing his battle with cancer...but his Angel picture was beautiful. I just got done looking at everything on his page. And left a message. You will always have an empty spot in your heart for Emilie and Randi, I'm sure they are looking down and following their little brother trying to guard him. I don't know what it feels like to have a child with cancer, I don't know what it feels like to lose a child. I don't want to know that feeling. I do know that it does suck to see little kids sick with cancer, to see children killed by cancer. I just want you to know that a day does not go by that I don't think about Wyatt. And then in turn how it has effected the whole family. And every journal I read from you, I see how strong you can be, not saying you are strong every day. How you keep your family together. All the running you do for all your children. You are a superwoman in my book! Take care and bless all of you!!

Hi Wyatt! Hope you had a good New Years and are feeling more energetic. Harlei is inpatient right now and we are exhausted. I'm sure you know how it goes... 15 minutes after you finally get to fall asleep they need bloodwork or vitals,etc... Just so Harlei gets better and we will have plenty of time to rest. Thanks so much for the package. All the clothes fit the girls. Harlei loves the pink sparkly jeans and we call Lexus a monkey b/c she's always jumping around so she loved the monkey shirt. I brought the hand creme with us b/c they are red and cracked from being so dry from washing them and it is the best hand creme I ever used. My sister is a nurse and said the same thing. Do you remember where you got it? I better go now that I wrote a book. Can ya tell I'm bored while Harlei is napping?? HAHA!! We wish you a happy healthy New Year! Rech Family,
Hello! Happy Thanksgiving...belated!! Sorry to hear about the fever...hoping it gets better and that Jim does too. LOVE the pictures!! I would have been here sooner...but my puter is soooooooo old. And it has been taking FOREVER for anything to come up. So, tonight I decided I would wait here for an eternity...to see how the Rech household is bustling along. I should get going and clean these cobwebs off me!! Have a wonderful day...to all of you!!!!! Is your dad's shed done yet??

I loved the pictures and slide show. A Spongebob cake! Wyatt, you are so lucky! Abby loves Spongebob too. Her little brother Sam (18 months) tries to sing along with the pirate at the beginning of each show. Sorry we have not been doing as good of a job staying in touch as you have. That doesn't mean we don't think and pray for you all the time. You are a special little boy and your smile is such a treat to see. Abby's uncle Collin describes her as strength meeting joy and I would say the same for you. Keep smiling and having fun because that's what little boys are supposed to do.

Yes she did leave her name AND email address and many got her email address before I deleted it! her name is Sally and she said she got Hannah's web site from a blood drive she donated at and was shocked to have read what was written and felt it was boring to update over nothing and how could I be so depressing and unhappy Hannah is in remission! first off she misunderstood the whole thing and I am very Happy Hannah is in remission. as any family who goes through life and death decisions for their child is going to feel that the "safety net" of treatments keeps them going and once that is done and all is moving forward in the right direction your mind is always going to have worry and that was my point. I had so many emials rallying around me already and many sent me their emails they sent to her! (OUCH)! my decision to remove her nasty message was so I would not keep reading it and getting upset nor let others read it and feel the same upset I did. now I wish I did leave it up for a while longer, she may be chnging her email address because of her rude comments. well off to finsih laundry and try to get my Christmas cards done. Thank you for your support and understanding! always so comforting knowing 'our Caringbridge families' are there and understand and care. prayers to you and have a blessed Holiday season. Holly

I Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I want to respond to your entry prior to this one, but I need to bite my tongue. I guess that sometimes ignorance is bliss! At least for everyone else. Okay where do I start....Kris, you hit so many emotions with me today & let me tell you how true everything you said is!!! Let me start by saying I'm glad the visit was short yesterday, I pray that the special test come back good & the numbers are right where they need to be, I hope that Wyatt stays fever free & starts feeling a little more like himself soon. It sounds like him & Haley are both feeling the same way-tired, crappy-just not themselves.

The comments from that other person-really do show the lack of education with this illness huh?! If people only knew......

Kris, Thanks for signing Ella's guestbook. I completely understand your frustration with people. It's never really "over". Dear Kris,
I have checked in on you guys on numerous occasions. Sometimes you don't know what to say. But I hear absolute frustration and anger in your Journal entry. I want you to know and I am sure that many many of our "family" members will agree with you that what we deal lwith on a daily basis is a terrible, dreadful feeling. Words cannot describe the emotions everyone goes through. People on the outside most of the time mean well and want the best and don't always use the best choice in words. I am sure your emotions are so mixed. Happy that treatment is done, but on pins and needles waiting on the bomb to be dropped, fearing it will and praying it doesn't. I wish the outside world would read on how to deal with friends that are dealing with our type of situations (I saw an article somewhere and it made sense). All of your feelings are so justified. It is so difficult.
Our Olivia is not out of treatment and people think because she hasn't been hospitalized other than chemo recently everyone says stupid things like "Is she going to be ok" ok? how do we know. You must be feeling real good about this now? It is one day at time and only time will tell. I also understand about the whininess being tough. Olivia is still receiving chemo and just turned 4 and is very tearful, whiney and angry at times. Who could blame them but it is tough on us.
I love the pictures of your children though. They are beautiful kids. If You need to vent or want to get your frustrations out. Feel free to personally e-mail me anytime you wish.
Hugs from Ohio.

Kris,

Thank you for letting everyone know that this cancer road is not easily cleaned up and everything is just happy, happy at the end of chemo. That is the thing that I am experiencing right now. Now that Tuli is almost done, everyone is saying "Wow, now life will be normal and you won't have to worry about it anymore." How untrue this is. How wonderful it would be if that was the case. No, this will never leave us. Life will never be "normal" again. You're right. There is a side to people that doesn't want to deal with it. They don't want to acknowledge that there is a chance it will happen even close to home. They are relieved that it is "over" for them. Like you, I just smile and say "Oh yes, we're happy to have it almost over.", but inside I'm crying.

I am hoping that the AFP comes back lower. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Love,

Janelle

Hey Buddy,
Thinking of you and praying those test results come back with good news. Looks like you had a great Birthday and had lots of fun! Hope those fevers go away. Feel better soon:) (P.S...Give Mommy some extra squeezes for us!)
Kris,
I know exactly what you mean. Yes, we are done and glad to be over chemo. But our road is still long and we have a long way to travel. We pray that there is no more detours, but who knows! We had scans Friday and for the first time I was so worried I was almost sick, and couldn't sleep. I think it was finally around 5 and we had to be up and gone by 8. Treatment is over now we play the wait and see game. And you are so right it just plain SUCKS!!! We just have to think "positive" is what I have been told over and over. Yes they mean well and they are right. But how do you tell them that mentally and emotionally you also need to prepare yourself for the possibility of a relapse? Our CB family knows these feelings and are such a precious part of our lives, the circle we form, the feeling we are not alone, and most of all the emotional support we get from them. It is so hard for someone not dealing with childhood cancer to understand. We are thinking of you and praying for those good results. Hope the little grouch cheers up soon and the fevers go away! Sending you lots of hugs and smiles,
Love,
Heather and Nikki
P.S. Thanks for the happy mail Nikki loved it all. We sent some to Wyatt too. Hope he got it!

Dear Baby Buck,
3 years old. It is so hard hard to believe that the time has gone by so quickly and that you are so big already
You continue to surprise your mommy daily, either by doing something funny or by just how strong you are.
I could spend the day just playing with you, and waiting for the next humerous comment to come from your mouth :)
You are loved by so many people. You are so special to not only be loved by family and friends, but also by many of your siblings friends and also our caringbidge family as well.
May this next year be filled with chocolate, preferably M&M's, smiles, laughter, and many squeezes for you and Mommy.
I cannot wait to see you out on the basketball court playing with all your brothers and sister and all their friends and having a blast.
I love you very much and am so thankful that 2 very precious angels brought you into our lives to make us laugh and giggle.
Love,
Mommy
P.S. I would really love to have my own bed back, and would be happy to tuck you into yours nightly.

Hey Gang,
Sorry it has been so long! Crazy, Crazy around here. Still checking on you daily. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WYATT! Hope you have a great day. So glad to hear all is clear. We go on Friday for 3 month scans. Nikki loved the card and the stickers. It really reminded her of our trip in Dec. She is so excited. Hope things are going better with the clinic. That place hasn't changed a bit:( Yep, we were a princess, a fireman, and Cat in the Hat for Halloween. They had a blast. Wyatt has to be the cutest frog I have ever seen. Hope you guys have lots of fun today, and we look forward to having that 5 year party right along with you. Hard to believe that the summer and chemo went so fast! Take care all. Sending lots of hugs, prayers and Happy Birthday wishes to you!!!

Kris, I must say that your journal entry this morning was very touching, and I even had tears in my eyes while reading it.. You guys certainly have traveled a bumpy road, but Wyatt is one amazing little boy, and you are a very strong woman.. I admire you both!

I just wanted to come by this morning, and say thank you for signing Dillion's new guestbook, and also to wish a VERY HAPPY BRITHDAY TO A VERY SPECIAL THREE YEAR OLD before both of our weekends got busy..

Wyatt-- Pancakes and Spongebob cake really sounds like my kind of party!! I hope that you have an amazing birthday, and have lots of fun celebrating! We will certainly be thinking about you on Sunday..

Sending lots of love, and big hugs your way.

Hi ~ What a cute picture of the froggy! (And football player too of course) Sounds like you had a busy halloween weekend. Our boys had a great time and were knee deep in treats by Sun. nite. I managed to take care of the excess candy - I'm pretty sure Abe got his sweet tooth from me :o)

It sounds like you have some serious hunters in your house too - Al has a few more weekends to hunt deer. Then, I think I'm due for a weekend shopping trip or something! Of course as soon as it gets cold and the lakes freeze, it's ICE FISHING time :o) Hope Wyatt is doing well.
