Jack will be missed but know that he has crossed over that Famous Rainbow Bridge and will be waiting for all of you when the time comes! Running free , no pain and so very happy. Hi Jessen family. My name is Susie Helgeson, I was the dietitian at On With Life when Matt was there. I will never forget the day when he surprised me by saying "Hi Susie"!! Working at OWL was such a priviledge and I have such fond memories of all of you. Unfortunately my husband suddenly died of of all things a catastropic brain injury and I moved back to Minnesota and my home town to be near my family. I have continued to read Matt's caringbridge site every day and am so thrilled with all his accomplishments, Chris' too!! Can't imagine whats going on in Matthew's heart and head but when I put myself in his shoes I know I couldn't be all Sunshiney and HAPPY every day.....hang in there and know that he appreciates everything you do for him! He may not always show it but that is a teenager and that is what they do! You can never compare what Chris did to what Matthew does because regardless of the brain injury they are 2 different people and if we all get down on Matthew he will only beat himself up that much more! Hollister has been very "cranky" this week also! He was
even grumpy in the pool with his "hot" therapist..haha
Maybe, some of the attitude is the change of seasons...
I have heard that from others as well!

Best of wishes as you begin your freshman year - you are in my thoughts so much. I can't tell you how proud I am of the progress you have made these past 2 years - you are truly a remarkable example of perseverance. It is going to be hard for me to not see you on a daily basis...the last 2 1/2 months have been an adjustment - but it really hits home today knowing you and Joyce are in a new setting...and I'm not there. BUT, I know you will handle it with the same strength as before - and knowing you are with Joyce makes it easier for me. If possible, maybe you could get an e-mail off to me occasionally - would love to hear about the new schedule...and see if there are any chicks turning your head. :) Take care, Sunshine...give me a little longer to adjust to my "new life" and I'll stop in at school to check out how things are going.

You should try the corn that's in the stand across the street from Hy-Vee in Altoona. I think it's from a Runnells farm. I got some over the weekend; $5 a dozen, completely full sized ears and it was delicious! We corn lovers have to look out for each other. The season is too short to eat skimpy corn! I'm glad you're all having a good summer.

Hey Matthew! I have been so blessed to have you and Zachary here at the Junior High the last two years! I will deeply miss both of "my boys" as you head off for High School - what?
