I saw your link on Giving Hope and wanted to stop by and say hi. I know its an old entry, but as far as flying w/ a kid that has epilepsy, we do it all the time. Arianna does pretty well, but we have the diastat on hand just in case. There was only one time that we had to use it on her and it was when we took a small plane to Cincinnnati for her check ups. Other then that as long as she isnt sick or stressed out or in a pattern w/ the seizures she does pretty good. Hope that helps. Matt is such a cutie! Take care

As a special education teacher I have worked with many kids with autism and I have always felt so badly for the parents. I have yet to meet one who hasn't blamed herself (or himself) nor have I met one who is at fault. It really is a mystery. Ann, Matthew is adorable. I'm sorry you are having a tough time right now. I wanted to share with you that my six year old nephew went through a spitting phase when he was about Matthews age. He doesn't have Autism or anything else... just stubborn and a boy. LOL. The spitting might not be anything more than that. Oh, and no matter how many time outs etc he still did it, until one day he didn't. Nothing we did stopped it.

Hi, Matt~ You remind me a lot of one of my nephews who is so special to me, he also has austim, diabetes and his eyes are not real good. Glad to hear school is fun for you! The other reason I came to write is when I read your Mom's upddate I remember my own son (who is now 16 years old) going into surgery and he had a bad diaper rash at the time a nurse told me to use CRISCO (yes the shortening) on his bottem it acts as a liquid bearer so his urine could not irritae his skin any more and I did and yes it did help tons, it also kept it from hurting. Just thought it may be a "cheap" help for Matthew. I hope things go well for you and your family. Take Care!!
