It's almost been 10 years. I'm visiting here because I was checking a few sites and wanted to ask God to say hi to brycers for me. I remember checking this site every day to read what you would write Susie. Thank you for sharing your heart and reminding us all to keep the faith. Love you.

Susie,
I took a few moments this morning to read your latest journal entries. I wish the old CaringBridge sites would allow us to get a notification when you post a new update. I wanted you to know that on Rachel's Confirmation day I was thinking of you, your family and Brycer. I knew that Bryce would have been Confirmed this year too and how this would be another difficult time for you. You have such a gift with words Susie. Your journal entries are so well put. You ARE glorifying God with your words and actions. You will never know how much you have helped so many people (including us) by making the choice to live your life giving glory to God DESPITE all the loss and pain that you have endured. I truly believe that God places people in our lives for a reason and I'm grateful that God has placed you in my life. You have been such an inspiration to our family and so many others. I know that Bryce and Tim are smiling down at you from heaven because they are so proud of you.
God Bless,
Julie

A letter from Heaven

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

"It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.

I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you.... in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain.

And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile."

So if you meet somebody who is sad and low;
Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going.... you're coming here with me.

Hi Susie,
I wanted to stop in and let you know that we were thinking of you and your family the other day. We were in Rochester for some tests for Austin and Donna mentioned there was another Austin that was recently diagnosed with ALL and would we want to stop by to visit them. We went over to St. Mary's and talked with his mom and dad for a while. One question they asked us was what helped us get through it all. I thought of you and your updates on CB. You have such strong faith and just reading your updates gave me encouragement. I wanted you to know the impact you have had and to tell you thank you. You are truly a remarkable woman and I feel blessed that we were able to meet you and Bryce.

Susie,
I continue to check Bryce's CB site as you and the boys are always in my prayers. Although we have never met, Bryce' story (and then Tim's) made a huge impact on me. I love how you talk about how Jesus asked God to change his plan. It makes me feel so good because I did the same thing when my daughter died. I begged God to change his mind and give her back to us. Now, 14 years later, I see the great impact she had on our lives. Because of her short life, I am a better person...my husband is a better person and so is my son. God is GOOD! Bless your heart!

Dear Mr. Hallmark, Sir

I am writing to you from heaven,
And though it must appear
A rather strange idea,
I see everything from here.

I just popped in to visit
Your store to find a card -
A card of love for my mom,
As this day for her is hard.

There must be some mistake, I thought,
Every card so filled with worth,
Except I could not find one card
From a child whose not on earth.

She is still my mother, too,
No matter where I reside.
I had to leave, she understands,
But, oh, the tears she's cried.

I thought that as I wrote you,
You would come to know
That though I am no longer there,
I still love my mother so.

I visit with her in her dreams,
And she talks with me all the time,
She wonders if that's really me,
Would you let her know I'm fine?

She's planted many flowers,
Where my living memory grows,
She carries me with her everywhere,
No matter where she goes.

She does so many loving things,
So none will ever forget,
That I once lived and loved on earth,
Now my love she needs to get.

Oh, Mr. Hallmark, sir,
Though I no longer live on earth,
I must find a way to remind her
Of her loving, wondrous worth.

She needs to somehow receive,
My message loud and clear,
The same as other mothers will,
From children who are still there.

Thank you, Mr. Hallmark, sir,
I know you'll do your best.
For you are the one I count upon,
So to you I'll leave the rest.

Please find that way to let her know
No space or time or sea,
Will ever change the loving truth,
That my Mom she'll always be.

AND GOD SAID

I said, "God, I hurt."
And God said, "I know."
I said, "God, I cry a lot."
And God said, "That is why I gave you tears."
I said "God, I am so depressed."
And God said, "That is why I gave you Sunshine."
I said, "God, life is so hard."
And God said, "That is why I gave you loved ones."
I said, "God, my loved one died."
And God said, "So did mine."
I said, "God, it is such a loss."
And God said, "I saw mine nailed to a cross."
I said, "God, but your loved one lives."
And God said, "So does yours."
I said, "God, where are they now?"
And God said, "Mine is on My right and yours will be in the Light."
I said, "God, it hurts."
And God said, "I know."

Hi, Susie. Thank you for sharing these prayer requests. I know it will help the ones who are suffering. You mention wanting to take away people's pain and suffering....I (and everyone reading Bryce's page) have wished for so long that I could take away yours. It's just a helpless feeling to watch people you love in pain. Just know that you are loved and cared about just exactly the way you love and care about the people you mentioned in your journal. Dearest Susie!
You reduce me to tears, make me smile and nod my head in agreement during each post I read. You are so gifted in expressing yourself. You motivate and inspire-always. You are the example of how to live a good life. I've even prayed to have faith like "Susie B". I couldn't agree with you more that living in GRATITUDE is the answer. If we could all look around, tune in and quit spinning our wheels in this ratrace called life.........we would reflect on the blessings we are given by Him. I think I'll start a gratitude journal for 2011. Journaling each day and giving thanks for the blessings of that day will certainly bring me closer to God.
You are so right about this "time of year". I miss my Mom and Dad so intensly during these last months of the year.
Thanks for your post. It was nice to "hear" from you and know that you are all doing well.I am so glad your "guys" are still sending you signs they are near. :)
Wishing you love and peace during this holiday season and may 2011 bring you all happiness, love, good health and all the abundance of the Lord.

Hi Susie and boys!

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've written. There's really no excuse because I think about Bryce so often (as well as Tim, yourself, and the rest of the family). For some reason today I felt a strong pull to get back on the site. There have so many important dates that have occured. Happy Belated 40th Birthday! I pray your day went well. All those days are so hard now: birthdays, mother's day, father's day, day of passing, day of funeral, as well as other significant days that stand out in our heads. But we have to accept them, ackowledge them, and move forward, even though it can be extremely difficult. This year on the date of Brenna's passing I felt myself being pulled deeper and deeper into depression. Then it occured to me, I can think of June 30th as the day I lost Brenna, or I can think of it as the day Brenna entered enternal life with the Lord to live pain-free with no sorrow, happily ever after waiting for us to arrive. I chose the latter and instantly my mood lifted. Of course it was still a difficult day and always will be, but I gave myself a new perspective and way to view this day. Anyways, I pray you and the boys are doing well. I know the Lord keeps lifting you up and giving you the strength to continue on. God bless you and the boys!

Love and prayers,
Julie

Susie, Mitch, Logan, Joel and Ethan ~

Happy Belated Mother's Day to the most amazing Mom I know! Did the boys spoil you on your special day??

WOW!!! So many exciting things happening on the Breuer farm!! I don't know where you get the energy to do everything you do! (Actually I do...from the good Lord above) We are soooo happy for you and the boys to be building a new house. We would like to see some pictures either here or on Facebook when you have time (whenever that might be :-) It has to be quite a challenge to have 5 people living in a trailer house...gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "family togetherness"! However, as you stated, you are just thankful to have a roof over your head which is sooo true. So glad to hear that the spring planting is done. We still have a few acres of beans left to plant but with all the cool, wet weather we have been having we don't feel too bad not being done yet. Please stop by if you ever get down our way. Brian would LOVE to show you his new shop. Tim would have enjoyed seeing it I'm sure. He has been using it alot this spring and really enjoys being inside where it is warm, dry and comfortable. I'm so happy for him that he has a nice place to work...he deserves it!

We think of all of you so often and pray for you daily. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Our family will just have to take a drive "up north" this summer to see for ourselves all the awesome changes taking place and to visit you guys. Since Rachel doesn't have to go back for any appts. until December (Praise God!) we will just have to make it a point to come see you.

Love and Hugs,

I know how difficult Mother's Day is for those whose child is in Heaven. This poem has been a blessing for me as I hope it will be for you

You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes & pray that he'll come back,
Or you can open your eyes & see all that he's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
Or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow & live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
Or you can cherish his memory & let it live on.
You can cry & close your mind, be empty & turn your back,
Or you can do what he'd want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

You are right, Susie, there is soooo much more. Thanks for continuing to share with us. I don't come to CB much any more but my CB family and friends are never far from my thoughts. Every time I think of Carter, I am reminded of Bryce and so many others. And believe me, I continue to think of Carter all the time. I think of the time Bryce delivered one of his birthday presents to Carter shortly before Bryce passed away. I couldn't imagine how you guys were dealing with Bryce's prognosis. Little did I know that our precious Carter would pass away just a few days after Bryce. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers.

Our prayers are with you always. It is hard to understand why when things were good something happens our lives change again. Pastor Hoppe talked about Job last Sunday now he had it bad. I always tried to tell myself someone always has it worse than me. Christmas is hard no doubt about that. I probably won't get to many matches but let the boys know I am cheering them on and cheering you on Susie you are doing a great job with the boys. Love and prayers Terry

Hi Susie, we think of you often. I look back periodically in Nikki's books to remember where we were back a couple years ago as well. Therapy yes. We miss them terribly and often wonder where things would be today if she were still here. They are resting and waiting for us in heaven and we will see them again, feel them again, and I cannot wait for that day. God has blessed us with our loved ones in our lives. Sometimes way to short a time. I thank him for every moment and every memory. God bless you and the boys Susie.

Susie:
I often think of you and the boys and come to this site and there's an update that very day. Now that is God's presence in our lives! He sends me to Bryce's site to read your message, be inspired, lift you up and become stronger in His love and word. His signs (as I believe you once wrote) are all around us. We must give pause and tune in, listen and believe. I read your post (today's has me choking back tears at the poignant stories of your Brycer and Tim)and stopped a moment when you spoke of offering prayer for those in any kind of need (not just medical). That was my exact prayer this morning! (my commute to work is 45 minutes so I have alot of time to think and pray)The other day as I reflected on loss and this time of year two cars passed me within 5 minutes of each other and one's license plate read," GODGVS" and the other, "BLVNGOD"...."God gives" and you bet I "believe in God." Wasn't that amazing?? "Signs" are so reassuring and comforting and meaningful. May you always be blessed and surrounded by them.
May your boys feel their father close during their wrestling season.
Praying you have joy this holiday season,
Hugs,

Please know that I am thinking about you during this holday season. I would like to share this special prayer with you.

Dear Father who art in Heaven...
Please join our family on this Thanksgiving day
And bless each one as we sit down to pray
As we remember those who have joined You above
So dearly missed and deeply loved.

Please provide us strength on this Thanksgiving day
Bless us with memories of those faraway...
Please grant patience to family and friends as we grieve
And help us reach out to others who are bereaved.

We give thanks to You on this Thanksgiving day....
For Your presence in our lives each and everyday.
For Your comfort, guidance, and never ending love...
And for taking care of our loved ones...in Heaven above.

As we light this candle on this Thanksgiving day...
And it glows in memory of those in Heaven today....
May their lights always shine down on us and give us light...
And may we feel their presence along with Yours tonight.

May the peace and tranquility of this Thanksgiving day
Be an everlasting light within each of us along the way...
Lets bow our heads and give our Thanks to God above..
For our blessings, whether on earth or in Heaven above...
Amen

Susie:
Once again you have spoken to my heart through the Lord. I just began reading a book by Max Lucado called "Traveling Light". He speaks of life through the 23rd Psalm and it's promise. "Releasing the burdens you were never intended to bear." You're right......He wants us to come to him with EVERYTHING. Releasing it to Him, giving it up to Him....and with that comes peace.RELEASE AND RECEIVE!! Boy, I like that Susie!! It's going to become my Mantra. My Aunt sends me a subscription to The Daily Word. On Monday the 16th, the day you posted, my Daily Word read:
"With a willing spirit, I express more of my Christ Light each day. Every change begins with willingness. It is the opening through which I invite more of God's abundance and wisdom into my life. If I find myself wishing some area of my life were different, I bring this thought to God in prayer. I then ask myself, Am I willing to let go of past hurts and allow God's love to flow through my life? Am I willing to see myself as a perfect child of God, receptive to all of God's good? Am I willing to release limiting thoughts and beliefs and expand my understanding of God's power within me? As a first step, I say, "Yes,I am willing." Step by step, with a willing spirit, I express more of my Christ Light each day.
Thanks for posting! You lift "us" up!!
Blessings to you and the amazing Breu Crew,

I say the same prayers for you each day and like the idea of knowing what your heart requests so I can be prayer specific. Hello Susie! Thank you for leaving your words in my guestbook, I am honored that you would take time from your busy day to do so. I have visited your caringbridge before but have a hard time reading it. It saddens me so to think of the loss you have endured.

I know you won't remember this but we actually have met before. What seems like a million years ago now I was at a Mary Kay meeting (I think a Super Saturday session??) at one of the hotels here in town. You were all so encouraging and so uplifting. And yes, we know several of the same people as well!

Thank you for your prayers. My faith in the Lord is strong and I have to believe that He will get me through this. Take Care Susie!

Thinking about you today!! I just received my weekly news letter from my church. Pastor Jim always puts in the letter what he is going to preach on the following Sunday. He is going to preach on "Why bad things happen to Godly people" My next thought, was Susie Breuer could do a sermon on that. Lots of people could do a sermon on that. I so greatly appreciate your faith!! I was looking for a different caringbridge site but this one came up. I was at Mayo Clinic with my precious son since October 11, 2005. I feel like we may have met. When my son got his stem cells harvested, I remember a young boy who was getting stem cells from his brother. I was a Mary Kay consultant at the time and so was his mother. I also saw them in the waiting room at the hem/onc floor at Mayo. My precious son passed away July 11, 2008. I have been struggling so much lately with grief. God keeps saying trust me. Today he said that I do have the desire of my heart because my son is safely in Heaven and this was the time it had to be done. I know I will see him again, but it has been a long wait already!! I pray God will continue to give you the grace and mercy to see it through.

Hey Susie - You have been on my mind so much the last couple of days. I want to thank you for the text you sent me regarding Jackson. At times like this, my mind wanders and has so many thoughts. So many thoughts of how life is so unfair and it is ever unknowing. It makes me wonder so much about how we are the lucky ones and why we are not in a different place. Holding you close in thoughts and prayers as well as the Schneider family and all the other families suffering either from the loss or through treatments. Hoping you are having or had a great time at Camp. Know we think of you guys so often!!

I love you and thinking about you when I woke this morning. So I said Lord, what is it I can do, and He told me to pray and lift you and your boys. So today I will pray and look into His word. Thank-you, (seems like such simple words) for your courage to continue in the Faith and Trust in the Lord. You are setting such a beautiful journey for so many to follow. I Love you!

Susie, I've been thinking of you and hoping that each day gets a little easier. We met a long time ago through Mary Kay...I'm on Trish's (Diana's) team.
I came across this poem at www.kimwencl.com (she lost her daughter in a fire), and I thought it was like a big hug. I've pasted it below.
Take care,
Jennifer Boysen

The Cord

We are connected,
My child and I, by
An invisible cord
Not seen by the eye.

It’s not like the cord
That connects us ‘til birth
This cord can’t be seen
By any on Earth.

This cord does it’s work
Right from the start.
It binds us together
Attached to my heart.

I know that it’s there
Though no one can see
The invisible cord
From my child to me.

The strength of this cord
Is hard to describe.
It can’t be destroyed
It can’t be denied.

It’s stronger than any cord
Man could create
It withstands the test
Can hold any weight.

And though she is gone,
Though she’s not here with me,
The cord is still there
But no one can see.

It pulls at my heart
I am bruised…I am sore,
But this cord is my lifeline
As never before.

I am thankful that God
Connects us this way
A mother and child
Death can’t take away!

Susie, you continue inspire me through your words even through your grief. We cannot know the depth of that though we do understand parts of it. The only way we can get through each day is to give it to God. We trust in him and we can get through, not easily, but still get through. Know we are here anytime you want to share. I hope you and the boys can come to the ROC (Remembering Our Children) picnic in August. There are some wonderful people I have met along this journey that we share. God bless you Susie and the boys. Part of your purpose is already being shared with all of us.

Those young men see their Mother go on and live life as a faithful servant. What a great gift your giving to them. What an example you are setting. I am also glad to hear you had such a relaxing time with your boys. I know so many were thinking of you this weekend. What a wonderful way to celebrate Tim's life.

Susie and boys.. That first year of firsts has finaly come and gone. I am sure you still wondering why this has happened to me. You know why but still need time to adjust, as you know God and all of us out here still remember you. I had flowers in church in memory of Tim yesterday. While things don't bring them back something to look at and touch helps. You never have to worry if people feel uncomfortable as you continue to heal, God wants us to help one another even if it is just to listen. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Jesus,
Please be with this hurting, grieving family. Walk beside Susie, Mitchell, Logan, Joel and Ethan as they pay tribute to and always hold in their hearts the inspiration of Tim and Bryce. Help them to continue to move forward in your grace with the empowering of our Counselor and Comforter, the Holy Spirit, sent in your name. Lord, abide with Susie in a most special way as she carries on without Tim's physical presence here with her as she leads these four young boys. Let her feel always inspired by Tim's LOVE even though she so misses his physical presence here on earth. Bring your manifest presence, Lord. We love you, Lord.

Thank-you, Lord, for the pink flowers from Bryce on Thursday to touch his Mama's heart. Please continue to give her special assurances like this.

When they feel too hurt to even know how to pray, Lord, remind this precious family that you are THERE with them holding them up. ~ Romans 8:26 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."

Dear Susie, Mitchell, Logan, Joel and Ethan,
I am lifting you all up to the Lord each and everyday. I Wish too that you and the boys didn't have to go through this, I wish in a second I could take it all away. Then I think at the same time it wouldn't be right to do that, like I would be doing something wrong for you. Sometimes

Dearest Susie, Mitchell, Logan, Joel and Ethan ~

Thank you Susie for being so candid about how you are coping, doing and feeling. This helps me to know exactly what to pray for when I pray for you and your boys during my daily devotions. We know the next few days will be especially hard for all of you (as if all the other days aren't hard enough). Remember to let God be your rock during the difficult times. We pray that one day you and your boys can begin to heal and will once again feel true joy in your lives. We pray for God's love, peace and comfort to surround you each and every day.

As Brian and I were driving to Riverside Bible Camp to pick up Rachel, we were talking about how it will soon be one year since Tim passed away. It is still so hard for us to believe he is really gone...we can only imagine how difficult and painful it is for you, the boys, Tim's family, and your family. Please know that there are so many loving, caring people out there praying for all of you. God loves you!

Lots of love and hugs,
Brian, Julie, Ben, Sarah, Matt and Rachel

I can only imagine your extraordinary grief ~ but I know that God Our Father is right by your side, lifting you up. I loved the pink flower story from Bryce--that sounds like him so much. I pray for your strength to get through with your boys one day at a time, and for Tim & Bryce to keep showing you signs to comfort you on extremely difficult days. I will never forget you, Bryce, & Tim, and the brothers. Thank you for giving all of us an everlasting memory of your beautiful family, and for taking us on this spiritual journey with you. Thinking about you and your family this week. I know it will be hard, but keep strong on your faith. It is up to you whether or not you continue to write - but I know it helps all of your readers to know how you are doing. I have never met your family, but I pray for you all so often. To My Dear Friend,
Know we are all lifting you up in prayer this week! I always wish there is more that I could say to help make it better or that I could do to help make it easier for you and the boys. In my silence, I listen and search for the words to say - but what it really comes down to is that I am just so incredibly sorry that you have to go through this!!! It is not comprehendible the "whys" and the millions of questions of “how” this could happen to your family after everything you went through with Bryce………but I know you will someday find out these answers and how you touched the many hearts and souls in this world! (Much, much more than you could ever imagine!)

Thank you for your openness and honesty! By telling us your emotions and heartbreak is not dissappointing us or letting us down. You are being honest and real! You are a beautiful person, with wonderful children and I pray that with time, you will find the peace and healing that you are seeking. I firmly believe.....and I pray that you have the strength to believe as well.....that with God's Grace and Love you WILL have joy in your life again!

All of our Love this week and always!

I can't imagine anyone else would feel any differently than you do. When we struggle for words, I think it's because there just aren't any. But...there is love and hope. I am just a believer in MN that was directed to your site a few years ago. You are such an inspiration and an important part of God's work here on earth. I am always lifting you and your family up in prayer and will be doing so with my whole being on Sunday. "Let us run with patience the race that is set before us." Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." My prayer for you is that you and your boys will FEEL Jesus's arms wrapped around you holding you up in the midst of your great loss.

Susie:
It is indeed so hard to believe that your Tim has been gone a year now. I will never forget coming to Brycer's site and seeing all of Tim's photos with your family. My thoughts were that maybe it was his birthday and you had him front and center on the site to celebrate him. Never in a gazillion years could I have predicted what your words would say that day. I went numb while my brain screamed out silently, "Noooooooooooooooo!" I spoke to my Mom that evening and just had to "vent" about it. It may have sounded crazy to her because I only know you through CaringBridge, but she sensed the pain I felt for all of you.You continue to fill my thoughts and prayers as I turn to God to ask for so many things for your dear family. We would all understand if you wanted to stop writing. I wouldn't want to stop posting my hello's and thoughts for you though. I hope that we could all continue to drop by and leave you messages. You are still an inspiration and those of us who love the Lord won't stray! Susie,

No words can express how truly sorry I am that your family was chosen to go through this. Why God has chosen this path for your family no-one will ever know. I truly believe that He does have a plan for you, and maybe that plan is to help others in this world be better Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Friends, and most importantly Believers in the Lord.

I wish so much I could take some of the pain away that you have to endure, and that your kids are feeling. All we can do is try and support you, pray for your entire family, and do our part to lift you up and give you strength. So we will keep on praying and holding you all in our hearts even more during this difficult time!

You have no idea how many lives your family have touched in this world. You have given so many inspiration, faith, and strength and now it's time to allow us to give you the same!!

Sus, You are always, always, in my heart, and on my mind. I wish I had the words and wisdom to share and comfort you. Don't forget how much they miss and love you too. You were everything to both of them and they love you more than you'll ever know. God is so lucky to have two faithful servants helping him run the show. I bet the gardens of heaven are more plentiful with the help of Tim and Bryce. Remember this is your earthly home and your eternal home will place us all together again. Hold fast, hold tight, rely on the one that can comfort you the most.

I was searching Psalms for you Sus...

Psalm 102: 1,2
Hear my prayer, O Lord;
let me cry for help, come to you.
Do not hide your face from me
when I am in distress
Turn your ear to me;
when I call, answer me quickly.

I did remember you and the boys yesterday in church. It was another one of those firsts that are very hard to bear. In reading your entry I can feel some of what you feel and while I am very happy in what God planned for me there are always those moments you think back. Time does ease the pain but you have do endure the pain first. Talking about the truck hauling reminds me how I met Tim on my way to Rochester. He was in the truck but I could not see his face as we met. That was the first thing I thought of when I heard about him that night. I think the signs are always around us we just do not always see them. I always think of the song "God will take care of you". You are all in our prayers always. Love Terry

Good Morning~

We just wanted you to know that we have been thinking
about you and your boys.

I am sure with school out, the boys have been quite busy
and enjoying their summer vaction. Hopefully the weather
will straighten out soon, and it will start to feel like
summer.

Are the boys planning on going to Camp Jornada this summer? It was fun seeing them there last summer,

Kyle graduated this past month, so we had a busy month with
getting things ready for graduation.

Nikki and myself have been busy with running back and forth
with all of our clinical appointmnents. Hopefully they will
slow down for a while too.

I just wanted you to know that you and your boys are always
in our prayers, and we check your site quite often even though we don't sign it very often. It is just hard to find
the right words to say.

Like everyone always says: Take one day at a time, and always follow your dreams~

Hi, Susie. We are heading to the U of Minnesota this afternoon as Allie and Emma are undergoing two days of testing for their Long-term Childhood Cancer Survivor Study. I am so proud of them for doing this cause it's not going to be a picnic. When they made this decision a few months ago, Bryce's name came up several times. What choice did they really have but to help? You will be in my thoughts and prayers even more the rest of this week. Love and hugs........angie

Hope you have fun with them! What's that old Alice Cooper song? "Schools out for SUMMER!" ....watch out! Mischievious boys on the loose!!(I know July is coming and will bring another "first". Susie,
I think of you SO often and want to call you almost everyday. But you know how it is, the day is not only long because of being a single parent (can't imagine with more than 1 kid) but as the day goes on, the grief sets in deeper. I think of you because I know you can relate to me probably more than any other person in this world.

I also think of you because I know that 1 year is coming for you and I pray for you and each of your days. I thought of you in March because I recall you saying you went on a trip last year.

Please know that even though we don't talk, I'm always open to it regardless of my own personal health struggles and I also do care. I miss Mark so very much and I know you and your husband we're very close just like me and Mark.

I have a picture of me and you at his funeral and we look like sisters! I don't know if I sent it to you yet but again, thanks SO much for attending that funeral. I know that must have been terribly hard because of the age. I went to a funeral a few months back for an older guy and that was very hard. I'm sure that brought very vivid memories for you.

As much as I don't really know what I could ever offer, I'm always here for you too. I know yours happened earlier but I don't mind listening and continuing to pray for you and y our kids. And we DO have to get together sometime....I'd like that very, very much.

I just can't think of what to say, but know you are in our thoughts today. Yesterday I went to a memorial service for an infant son of a close freind who died after 2 days. He was premature. While talking with friends who had simailer situations and how they dealt with theirs. I looked up as someone left and there was a big bunch of orange tulips. Bryce came to my mind. I think it was his way of saying baby Cooper was with him and God. Love and prayers today. Terry

Hi,Susie. Well, my Allie (13) had her first real sign, and it was a Bryce sign! On the way to her ortho appointment yesterday, we were talking and I told her that today was Bryce's 11th birthday. She got a real sad look on her face....and then lifted the sleeve of her sweatshirt and started smiling. Then she said, "Mom! I am wearing Bryce's bracelet today!!" I realize this might not seem like much, Susie, but Allie keeps Bryce's bracelet on her dresser. She doesn't wear it. She said this morning, she looked at it (like she does everyday) and thought, "I am going to wear this today!" Allie simply couldn't believe it and knows for certain it's a sign that Bryce is just fine! Just wanted to let you know. Love and hugs and prayers today and always.......angie

Dearest Susie...Happy Mother's Day! Remember.....God picked you---out of all the others---to be Mitchell's, Logan's, Bryce's, Joel's and Ethan's mom! When you really think about it, it's absolutely amazing.

Now....about Mitchell's Confirmation scripture. Just a reminder...I've taught taught middle school kids for 19 years, and I cannot tell you how impressed I am by that young man. His wisdom and strength and ability to CHOOSE JOY is unbelievable! This is a passage I am going to write down and put in my Bible and inside the linen closet in my bathroom (it's where I keep my inspirational messages!). Thank you, Mitchell, for these sacred words and for strengthening my faith. Love you all so much......angie

Although I don't know what you are going through, and can't imagine how difficult this is for you and your family, I hope you know that we are trying to do what we can in our own lives to make ourselves better mothers, wives, friends, as well. And I can honestly tell you that you are the reason for that. You are an inspiration to so many of us, helping us to see what is important in our own lives, and for that I'm truly grateful to you. And that should be something that gives you some added strength, knowing that you continue to touch the lives of so many of us!

We will continue with our prayers for your family, especially during this difficult time. May God Bless you all.

Dearest Susie & Family:

You remain such an inspiration to our family!

We were SO very touched by the beautiful note written on Hands of Hope stationery and the generous check to Will we received last week.

Today, I'm really at a loss for the right words to express our gratitude for the beautiful expression of generosity. I know how much you deeply care for my precious son as I did and still do for all of you, Tim and Bryce.

I think of you so often and appreciate your recent phone call and am sorry I did not return it but I know you understand, better than most, and did not necessarily expect a call in return.

I can't imagine how difficult it is for you at times, without Tim and Bryce, but you are such a strong woman yet I am so thankful you can honestly and openly share your sadness, frustrations as well as joys on this website. You have the gift (one of many) of being a beautiful writer.

Thank you for continuing to allow us into your lives.

Hello, Susie. Boy.......whenever I read your journal entries, my heart feels so full---full of love and compassion, grief and hurt, joy and faith. There just seems to be so much inside of me, that I cannot possibly get it all out--and certainly not out in the way I would like. Your boys are blessed beyond understanding by your beautiful presence in their lives. God picked you---out of all the others--as the one person they needed to have as their mom. Please know that not a day goes by when I don't think about you and boys--and Tim and Bryce--and send up a prayer for your peace and healing and joy. With love and prayers always.........angie

You don't know me, although I have signed your Guestbook just a couple of times. I haven't been to your website for a few months, but yesterday God laid you on my heart to pray for you. All day yesterday I was doing one of my favorite things -- preparing gardens. Now when I log in to check on you, I see that is what you were probably doing as well. Even through a stranger, God knew. God bless you and your family through this difficult season.

What a special day for your son. I could "feel" the lift in your words in this post. I can feel the "struggle, but faith" on other days. I pray daily for the "lift" for you. God is good and He is there for you. He knows your pain greater than anyone. I'm so glad you had an awesome birthday Queen!! You deserve it.Recently I was driving to visit friends in southern Ohio and the last 25 miles of my trip were on country roads. I passed a small community church and looked over and right at it's sign and there were the words,"Walk by faith, not by sight". I smiled, looked up and said, "Thanks Lord. I needed that and you knew it!"
Take care of each other,

Susie,
I have been following your page for some time, since before Bryce passed away. I have been thinking about you and your family quite a bit over the Easter holiday. As you have stated many times, God always has his reasoning. I truely believe this is reasoning is stated louder than any words can express. Your faith and love for God has proven to be more of a support to each and every person that comes into "contact" with you. You are a true inspiration to all of us. God has challenged you to make us all see your strengh, faith and love.

I just wanted a chance to say thank you for allowing me to be able to be a part of your caring bridge family for the last couple of years. I have laughed with you, cried with you and watched you be broken and built back up. It has been an incredible journey. This journey has been long and grueling, with loses of family and friends, but it has also brought many friends, support and love into your life that you have graciously shared with each person you have shared your story with.

Thank you for being an inspiration to us all. It has truely given us all hope! I do pray for you and your boys as you have a long road that God will continue to guide you down.

Susie:
Easter is the most important day....the greatest day. It holds our promise, our forgiveness, our HOPE. All those "firsts" are hard for you though. This one no different.
The cycle of grief is a roller coaster, isn't it? You never know when you're going to go crashing down the next hill. You have to hold on tight until you head back up. I hate that you have to go through that times TWO!! You're on the path to healing Susie...that's for sure. Despite setbacks and "crashes"- you are on your way. Have HUGH faith and keep your head up.
I commend you for taking four boys on an airplane across the big ocean!! WOW. You rock girl. What an undertaking. Be proud of yourself, believe in yourself and what you can do and keep putting one foot in front of the other. You are being held in the Lord's hand and the prayers of all those who know you. Give thanks for blessings already on their way. :)You're amazing!!

You are an awesome woman, Susie Breuer! I am so sorry for the loss and heartbreak you and your boys have gone through with Bryce and Tim. I have followed your journal since I first came across it back in February, 2008. I wanted to write in back in July when Tim was called to his heavenly Home with Bryce and Jesus. I should have written in just to let you know how sorry I was and to let you know that my husband and I would be praying for you and Mitchell, Logan, Joel and Ethan. But... I was just so stunned at the depth of your loss...I felt helpless in knowing what I could say to you at a time of such shock and deep hurt... Looking back, I realize now that though I felt so at a loss for words, I should have at least reached out in Christian love to let you and your boys know just how sorry we were for you all and that we were responding to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to pray for you guys...
Susie, so many times as I've read your journal entries I have felt the Lord speaking to me through your words. Many times it is as if I am reading a devotional. I also sense the strength and Christ-like spirit of both Bryce and Tim in you, Susie Breuer. I know Tim and Bryce are both so proud of you and your boys!
My husband and I will continue to pray for all of you.
Love in Christ,
Nancy and Alan Blount

2 Corinthians 4:8 "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; stuck down, but not destroyed."

1 Corinthians 13:7,8,12,&13 "Love...bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails...For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love."

It was so good to see you on Friday night, thank you so much for calling! I apologize for my 'ignorance' in wrestling! : ) The first thing Jackson did Saturday morning when Hannah got home from her sleepover was tell her that he got to go to watch wrestling and see you. She was mad. : )

I hope the wrestling tournament on Saturday was successful. Just knowing that you were a part of it makes me think that it was! : )

I hope you are having a good week!

Dear Susie,

My friend, Tammy Brooks, told me that you included me in your entry and I am just stunned! You are amazing and unbelievable! I read your entries and feel comforted by your strength!! I am so grateful you rely completely on God as He is truly the only source of our strength in desperate times, and my goodness you certainly had your fair share!

I am going to tell my friend about you and have her read your latest entry. She lost her husband in July as well, and I too find her amamzing like you! She also gets her strength and courage from the Lord!

I know little Will Canan, we honored him this year at Humor to Fight the Tumor and I just learned about Jackson Schneider at a family camp we went to in February. What a small world, but then again, God never ceases to amaze me as He weaves lives together!

Thank you, Susie, for your kindness and prayers, you and your boys are definitely on my prayer list as well!

Today I read your post and smiled and shook my head "Yes" as I read and took it all in. Susie-
I've been meaning to send you this story all week. Last Monday, when I saw Joel at school--I wished him a Happy Birthday and then asked him what the best part of his birthday party was.
I was expecting to hear a typical answer of a present or the cake or the food, etc. but Joel's response? "Sending up the balloons to Bryce and my dad."

Hi Susie! I just wanted to let you know you are on my mind all the time and especially on the 22nd. I am so happy Bryce brought us together. You have one amazing family and I have learned sooo much from you all. I have been meaning to tell you...have you watched The Bachelor on tv? My goodness, the bachelor is a twin to your Mitchel! He is also very comforting and kind....just like Mitch. Funny!
I hope you are all doing well and I hope we can see you again soon.

Happy Birthday Joel - You probably don't remember this - but I remember the first time I ever got to meet you. You were in the playroom at St. Mary's sitting at a table all by yourself. It was right before Thanksgiving because you were coloring a picture of a turkey. I sat down beside you and we started to talk and I colored with you a little bit. The next thing I knew, you were giving me one of your beautiful pictures you had colored. (Just to let you know - we hung that turkey on the wall in Ethan's room and I still have that turkey.) While we were colroing I looked behind me and there came your dad down the hall. He kind of looked at us funny and then he asked me, "Is he causing any trouble?" I can't imagine why your dad would have asked anytyhing like that!!!! Joel - I hope you had a fantastic day. Our family is so lucky to have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to be good friends with you guys. Know that you and your family are always in our thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a very happy birthday - and I know this is girl stuff - but could you give your Mommy a great big hug from me? Love and hugs to you ALL

Susie: Remembering your Brycer on the 22nd (and Tim -on the 19th). How can it be 2 yrs and yet it probably feels like a decade since you held him?! "Do not be discouraged if it feels as though you are going backward at times--sometimes forward, sometimes backward. That is the natural process of grief. If you are bringing your hurts and fears to God, if you desire to move forward toward healing, if you are learning about the grieving process and trying to apply some things you have learned, then you are making progress, even when you do not feel you are. Father God, when I get discouraged because it feels like I'm going backward and not forward, help me to stop trying so hard and allow You to be my support and strength.Amen"

Mighty Warrior ^^Bryce,^^

God looked around his garden,
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest;
God's garden must be beautiful-
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain;
He knew you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And hills were hard to climb
So he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered,
"Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone,
For a part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

It was a very moving experience to listen to this song and watch the "tube"! As you endure another anniversary without Bryce, our hearts go out to you and our prayers continue to try to bring you comfort. The way I see it, in plain language, February sucks! God brings us so much comfort though, so many suprises, and we're just that much closer to joining Him in Heaven! Hope for brighter tomorrows! Hope you enjoy the performance and hope it posts the link right! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CT7x3VnrqbA

God Cares
By Mickey Rogers(c)
When I think of God's mercy
And I think of his Love.
Such a wonderful God
Looking down from above.

How He watches His children
While He sits on His thrown
Oh how He loves us
And cares for His own.

He cares for the weak.
He cares for the bold.
He cares for the young.
He cares for the old.

No laughter or smile does
He miss when you're glad.
No tear does he miss
When you're feeling so sad.

He knows what to do
And His timing is great.
He's never too busy
and He's never too late.

So, when you think He's not listening
Or you think He's not there,
Just remember He is watching
And He hears every prayer.

Dearest Susie and boys...
Just had to write and tell you that it was so good to see you when you were up here in the cities for Mark Turnidge's funeral...and how unbelievable it was that you came. Your presence was a blessing to all of us.
I think of you so often and pray furiously for you and the boys whenever I do. Will pray more deliberately that your good days will outnumber your bad days by far...for you and the boys.
Know that so many of us love you and pray for you regularly. God is using you sooo big in so many of our lives.

Praying for you extra today and hoping your UP days continue to come. What a beautiful entry, and amazing devotion to the Lord and your family. Tim and Bryce are looking down on you with huge smiles, because they too know how much they were loved by you. You have taught me so many valuable lessons in life, but most of all to take the time to cherish the many things in this life. To love unconditionally, and share your love every day, no matter how busy we all are. I hope that you also feel the love and support of so many of us supporting you through this journey.

I didn't get to see the boys wrestle on Saturday, we were always in different gyms. It was nice to visit with you (briefly) however, and hope you all had a good time and that you made it to Lake City.

Dear Susie and Family,
I just had to let you know how much I admire you, and how truly inspiring you are! I was Isaac Hall's second grade teacher, so have read your many inspirational entries in his guestbook. I'm the one who got to hear his "Mrs. Jaros, I don't think I've ever had a bad day." comment concerning a school writing assignment.

After the service, I went up to Juanita and asked her to point you out to me, because I so wanted to meet you. You had just left to drive back, so it was not to be.

I just wanted to extend my sincere sympathy to you and your family, and to let you know how meaningful your journal entries are to everyone.

I retired in May after 32 years of teaching. It was so nice that I had the time to stay with Isaac, and that Carla, Travis, and Isaac felt comfortable with me doing that. This is the week I would have chosen a time to stay overnight again with him, and I miss him so much!

I also taught Evelyn in 2nd grade, so I've known the Hall family since Isaac was first diagnosed. They are wonderful people! I had Juanita's son,(Dayton) in my class with Evelyn, so I've known that wonderful family as well. Juanita is an exceptional woman!

Thank you for the blessing you have been to others!
Take care and God Bless!

Good morning.
I come to you from Amy Taylor's page. Your words to Warren were so insightful; it was clear that you were speaking from your own well of grief.
I was so sad to read of the very difficult losses of your husband and son. I can only hope that each day lightens your grief even a little bit so that it is easier to go on. I think that's our job, to somehow go on.
You had already started down that path of grief with your son, and now to have to walk with your grief over your husband seems inexplicable.
We know that you will always miss Bryce and Tim; you'll have a hole in your heart, but their essence will be with you. All the best to you and your family.

Hi Susie!
I am so sorry you are having a bad day! I am sure you more than your fare share! When I am having a particularly bad day I think of you, and how uplifting you have been to me at different times. I don't have any insprirational words to tell you, like you do to me! Just know that I keep you and your boys close to my heart and in my prayers constantly!

Susie - I've never met your family but have followed your page from time to time through Jackson Schneider's. I wanted to let you know that you boost my faith. When I'm questioning God's plan for our family and look at the future with trepidation instead of hope, faith, and trust in the Lord, I often turn to you. I do trust that God will provide for us and will put people in our lives for a reason and your page reminds me of that. Thank you and God bless you. I pray for your and your family's healing and that God will put people in your life that bring you joy.

Hi Susie, I just wanted to stop and say hello to you and those darling boys. Is it as cold in MN as WI these days? They cancelled school for two days and it is not easy keeping a little boy whom is very active- couped in the house all day....I am sure you know what I mean. I hope you are all well, I think of you often and Dylan always says he wants to go bcak to Minnesota. Take care and stay warm.

Dear Susie.....Are the boys ready to go back to school now that the cold snap has ended? :) Crazy weather we have here in the Midwest. I thought about you a lot during those days....it just seems to me that when it's so cold....that one's heart can feel heavier.....I was praying extra hard for you and the boys.....praying for smiles and peace and joy--now and always. On Saturday, Emma had a basketball tournament, and we ended up playing the Goodhue girls--what a great bunch of shooters they are!! I thought about you and Bryce and Tim and Mitchell and Logan and Joel and Ethan the entire game.....Remember to take care of yourself, Susie....you always seem to be doing so much for others......your heart is so generous and compassionate.....take good care of you too......I am sending my love and prayers........angie

Susie,

Thank you for being at Mark's funeral and sharing with me. I am so glad we met finally and sadly, under the circumstances that are. You and your family are beautiful and I hope I can talk to you about the grieving process, to get more support and insight. I admire where you are and how far you've come. I'm sorry about Tim and Bryce and have no words, but I know you know this.

Susie,
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and the boys. God has such a way of puting special people in our lives and you Susie are one of my special people. My arms wrap around you and give you the biggest hug a friend can give. I can just imagine you and the boys playing and laughing and crying. Taking the new life and making it a norm. Please know that Montana is still waiting for your visit. Bob can't wait to take the boys fishing. I love you and I hope that 2009 brings you lots of smiles. Hope to see you this summer when we come out for appointments. Love you and the boys!
Love, Tawnia

Good Morning Susie,
I arrived at work this morning and checked all my dear friends of caringbridge that you have led me to and an so saddened by the news of Amy, Zach and Lisa. However I am amazed, yet not surprised, that through your own grief and heartache that you continue to support these families and give them God's comfort. You are such a HUGE source of faith for me. I have learned so much from you. I am so thankful that you are in my life and that my family has had the gift of knowing your family, beautiful family! I hope you and the boys had a nice Christmas and a good new year.
