Zoe’s Story

Site created on October 25, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Zoe is a smart, sassy, vibrant teen that loves her life to the fullest. She plays 7 different instruments and loves to sing. She plays softball for West Salem Panthers on Varsity and a 16 u traveling team of Wisconsin Bandits. She is a wrestling manager for the WB Catbirds. She also is a CNA at Gundersen that they say she is wise beyond her years and she knew how to engage with the toughest of patients. Zoe is a strong very busy teen that her world literally stopped after a tragic car accident on October 24, 2022 and suffered a traumatic brain injury. This page is for all of the family, friends and community of supporters and dedicated to her road to recovery.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Jamie Coder

I cannot thank everyone enough for the continued support for Zoe. I will try to do an overall update to get closer to today and then make sure to post what I post on Facebook (BraveZoeBug page) here as well moving forward. The surgery that happened at our last update here was a miracle. She is continuing to push through therapies to gain control of walking more without a brace. She has been recognized with a Milwaukee Bucks perseverance award, Extra Effort Award, and a Finalist for WIAA Spirit of Sport. Her cognitive thinking and memory processing is still considered very impaired but improving. Speech has come a long way.  Physically literally one step at a time but definitely going to Walk across the stage (hopefully device free) at graduation end of May. College is not in her near future due to the continued healing from her Brain injury. We are just focusing one today and tomorrow all we can do.
