We serve an amazing God! Zekes recovery has been absolutely amazing, we know the power of prayer has made all the difference. Zeke has continued his healing at home now for 3 weeks, lots of therapy and doctor appointments but all has been going well.
Today was a bittersweet day for Zeke. One of his best buddies from childhood (they lived next door to each other growing up and remained friends ever since) passed away while Zeke was in the hospital. Kurt was battling cancer and we knew he wasn't going to be with us much longer. Zeke and Kurt were together just a few days prior to Zeke falling ill. We are so thankful they had that day together. Today we had Kurt's celebration of life and Zeke was able to attend. That meant so much to Zeke. There were people from the old neighborhood, high school, people that went way back in the day.... Zeke didn't miss a beat! He knew who everyone was, he talked with several people and was able to stay for the entire service. His body and brain are still healing but today we got to see just how far he's come.
I want to thank everyone so so much for all the positive thoughts, prayers, texts, phone calls, gift cards, food and support that all our friends, family and loved ones have shown us over the last couple of months. You were appreciated more than you know. We know we have more healing to do but God told us Zeke would make a full recovery and that is what we are standing on, so for now we just continue on this journey with our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, He is in this with us, so we know how this story ends.
