Zachary’s Story

Site created on May 7, 2018

Zach was in a motorcycle accident on May 6th. He was on his way home on Rebecca Lake Road when he lost control on the curve right before the gun club, because of loose gravel. He was thrown from his bike approximately 100 feet and the bike started on fire instantly. He has a laundry list of injuries. We love him very much and have high hopes for a recovery.

I am very sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I should have passed the reigns to someone else for the past couple weeks while I prepared for my move. But with that said Zach has stayed making steady progress. He was moved out of the ICU to a regular room then a few days later was moved to the rehabilitation area. Where they were doing a "bootcamp" style of PT. And all of those transitions went smoothly. And now....NOW HE'S HOME! Yes this miracle kid is home. Yesterday he left the hospital and is all set up with everything he needs at my parents home. We couldn't be happier. He will have a busy schedule with his PT, Dr. appointment's and exercises. But that will keep him occupied because he's antsy! They did remove has feeding tube. So he is getting his protein and calories from shakes, smoothie's and soups. I will try to be better on updates, promise. But thanks to all of you and your good vibes and prayers our Zach is home! Big love to all!
