Xander’s Story

Site created on February 6, 2019

Xander is a friendly, curious, active little boy with an infectious giggle who loves to learn and asks a million questions trying to find out everything about everything! When he was three, he told his mommy that Jesus told him in his heart that he was going to be a missionary doctor. In the past five  years, he has never wavered from that conviction. In fact, he and his big brother Kade, who plans to be a mission pilot and pastor, have a plan to start a mission together in Africa.

Xander has a huge heart for others, always looking for ways to bless everyone around him. He loves to sneak up behind his mommy and rub her shoulders, or surprise her with pictures and little gifts. Mommy will often walk into her bedroom to find that Xander has made the bed, or into the kitchen and catch him sweeping the floor, just to make her happy. He is a little prayer warrior who will stop and pray for and with others at any time.

His brothers are his best friends, and whenever they’re playing together you’ll hear them singing at the top of their lungs. He loves to play legos, read books about animals and go hiking in the woods with his daddy. He is often able to talk Daddy into doing a building project together, or sneaks into bed for a snuggle when Daddy is napping. Most of all, he loves to talk about Jesus, and reads his Bible every day so he can know Him more.

Journal entry by Bryan & Ruth Dawson

Today is Xander’s eighth birthday! We are so, so thankful that he is still here to celebrate this day with us. He had a fun afternoon visit at school with his friends, and we enjoyed a quiet family dinner at home. We are filled with gratitude for the blessing of this precious boy’s life!
