Journal entry by Jenna Orem —
From mom:
One week home today! How that time flew by! It has been a whirlwind but each day seems to maybe get a little more settled. There was confusion about our arrival day, so we had to work through some kinks. We unloaded two vehicles’ worth of “stuff” and found places to put it all. Dave continues to work on the shower with help from family. Visitors come and shower us with food and treats and love.
We’ve had first visits from the nurse and therapists. Logan will have 2 sessions a week with a physical therapist, 2 sessions with an occupational therapist, and 3 visits from a nurse. They have all been very knowledgeable and professional and are excited to work with Logan and continue his rehab. We look forward to getting back into a routine and seeing his progress grow.
It’s so absolutely wonderful to be home. We’ve watched sunsets, grilled hamburgers in the back yard, watched the cows, sheep, and horses in the pasture. I love using my washer and dryer again, hanging sheets on the line outside, cooking in my kitchen and doing dishes in a sink. Walking to the mailbox and petting the dogs. Logan’s favorite spot is sitting in the sun. Megan’s Aussie found a new favorite spot in his lap. Finally home. Let the healing begin. Heart, mind, body, and soul. O Jesus, we surrender ourselves to you. Take care of everything. ❤️
