Amazing news to share. Wilton was released from the hospital on Tuesday, and is recuperating at home! We are all shocked and so very grateful!

Monday the 12th, the Dr.'s did another swallowing test to determine if the feeding tube could be removed. It went well and the tube was removed that afternoon. This was a turning point.

On Tuesday the Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and Dr.'s who had been working with Wilton determined he was well enough to finish his recuperation at home. The alternative was a rehabilitation facility that would have required a 14 day quarantine. Home was a better alternative.

Mom and Wilton arrived home Tuesday evening about 6:30. They're doing well. Wilton is in the bedroom on the main floor, Mom is staying with him on the main floor. He has a walker he uses to get around. He doesn't go very far. He cannot put any pressure on his right arm due to the broken clavicle and ribs but can use both legs now, carefully but he can, another thing to be grateful for. He makes a bit more progress each day! He has exercises that he does 2 or 3 times each day.

The Dr.'s will continue to monitor the broken bones. They took x-ray's of all of them before Wilton left the hospital. The first follow-up appointment is on Wednesday the 21st because they're watching his right eye. It's not following the left eye quite like it should. Wednesday the 28th they go back for 5 consecutive appointments. I'll update again after that.

Right now time is what Wilton needs to heal. He's getting better each day. He knows it's going to be a long road. He's very happy to be at home and ready to push through. He and Mom are taking it day by day. Grateful for every sign of improvement.

I want to mention that on Saturday the 10th, Butch Sluka, mom's brother passed away. He will be truly missed. He had been checking in with them a couple times a day while they were at the hospital. Sending all our love to his son Scott, his wife Cheryl (who's mother just passed two weeks prior) and their son Derek.

The neighbors, Wilton's sister and her husband, Moms brother and several neighbors have been very helpful. When I talked to Mom tonight she said again how humbled they are by this. Every thought, prayer, card and donation has been so appreciated. Thank you all so much.
