Will’s Story

Site created on January 20, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website in memory of our dearest, Will Owen Bunting.  Will passed away on January 17th, succumbing to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Plummer Idaho on Friday January 15th.

We are using this Caring Bridge site to keep family and friends updated in one place and to invite contributions of words, music, poetry, and photography in memory of Will's very active and wonder-filled life. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Here s a link to a Google folder of pictures in addition to the gallery here on the site. https://photos.app.goo.gl/wfqPPnx1C5Qnz74E6 (https://photos.app.goo.gl/wfqPPnx1C5Qnz74E6)

We also had a wonderful Celebrating Will event last week. If you missed it or would like to watch again, clink on the link.

Journal entry by Penny Morgan

It’s been three years, already, since Will’s accident on Jan. 15, 2021. Last week, we and others lit candles for Will, played music from Will’s Playlist on Spotify with songs many of you contributed, and cooked and shared great food. We cried. We laughed. We told stories. We looked at photographs. We reread emails you’ve sent to us.

We are so grateful to all our friends and family for all the support that you have given us. You've given us a deepened sense of community. Thank you for being part of our world.

We are all doing well and making the most of our lives. I give blood that helps people in need. Sarah is counseling clients as an intern at Trail Ahead Therapy as she starts her second year of graduate program to become a clinical mental health counselor. Sarah is training to be a volunteer at the Center for Hope and Healing at the Grief Center of New Mexico. Steve tells us stories that help us laugh often and touch our hearts.  Steve keeps us deliciously fed. We grieve. We find joy in the many conversations.

We plant to release our book, "Cooking with Will" on Will's birthday in March. We've been working to include recipes from around the world that our family enjoye sharing, together with stories and photos. Thus, it is a remembrance book, cookbook, and more in which we celebrate our lives together with Will. We will let you know when it is ready, then you can email us if you want a copy at RememberingWill2021@gmail.com. And of course we are always glad to hear from you at that email address.

With love to all of you. Please live fully and well. ~~ Penny, Steve, and Sarah
