Good morning friends,
Today at 11am, Will is having an MRI scan done on his brain. He had a check up with his PM&R doc at Vandy, Dr. Plummer, last week and had some blood work done. His IGF-1 hormone levels came back slightly elevated, therefore Dr. Plummer wanted to have an MRI done in order to make sure everything is good or if we need to follow up with an endocrinologist based on the findings. Dr. Plummer is hopeful that these elevated levels are “clinically inconsequential” and so are we. Please pray with us that there are no changes in Will’s brain scan (though we will definitely take positive ones). Pray that this elevated level is inconsequential and that it would lower back to a level within “normal” range. Pray for peace for us today before, during, and after the scan as we wait for results.
Last night we read “The Singer” (based on Matthew 6 & 9 and Luke 12) from the Jesus Storybook Bible with Ruth at bedtime. Jesus is talking to the crowd that is full of worried people and asks them to look at the birds and the flowers. He tells them that they don’t sit around and worry about where their next meal comes from or if they’ll be clothed because God always provides and takes care of their every need. He reminds the people that God loves to look after the birds and flowers, and He loves to look after His children. That all creation was made to sing the song… “God made us. He loves us. He is very pleased with us.” He wants to take care of us. That’s why He sent Jesus to sing that song over us and remind us of His unfailing love. Thank you bedtime Bible stories for a reminder that was very timely — we know there are no coincidences with God! :)
I was reminded of something our pastor said a few weeks ago during a sermon about worry…that “worry is an opportunity to trust God.” To cast our cares upon Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).
So, we continue to trust Him in spite of our minds being prone to worry. We reflect and remember how He’s showed up in every moment of this journey. We know that He is already there and sees how all of this plays out. And it’s always going to turn out for our good and His glory because He promises us that. He has never failed and He never will. He is steadfast and trustworthy in His love and care for us. He is our firm foundation. (Listening to that song on repeat this morning!)
So today, we ask for your prayers. And we ask the Lord to “give us THIS day our daily bread…” (Matt. 6:11). He will always provide!
We will keep you updated! Grateful for you all!
