Journal

During the months of December & January Wes was in the hospital a few times, was accessed quite a bit due to no neutrophils (infection fighters) and an increase in his chemo. The last month or so he winced everytime someone would access him and he would tell them it hurt. Which is not like him at all, he sits through his accesses like something I’ve never seen, doesn’t care that it’s happening! The nurses scheduled a dye study & Wes definitely needed a new port; it was leaking, the catheter was malfunctioning.

So, last week Wes had a full removal & replacement for a new port (hopefully his last 🤞🏼)
He did so so well, Cody & I were a bit emotional but it never gets easier seeing your baby under anesthesia but also the wait in the waiting room is the worst.

There’s a only a couple months left, seems so close but so far. He has come so so far. He will win. But as his parents, we never stop worrying, I don’t think there’s even an hour that goes by our minds aren’t worrying or thinking about cancer, how he’s acting, if he’s getting sick, is this a symptom from chemo or is this just normal toddler things.. our minds are always racing.

We truly could not do all this without all the support from our family, friends & our community. There will truly never be enough “thank yous”. Our boy is so so loved. His doctors & nurses have been just amazing, there are no words for them. Weston now looks forward to getting his eggda bites (Starbucks egg bites), getting numbers & seeing his nurses ❤️
