Newest Update

Journal entry by Wendy Noe

Reconstructive surgery #1 went well yesterday! The surgery itself only took about 90 mins which was much shorter than we thought. The entire medical team at Methodist were amazing. I went in with some serious anxiety but my surgeon made me laugh, and it calmed my fears. I may have rolled into the OR with some tears, she looked at me and said are those tears? There’s no crying in the OR!  Cure the Tom Hanks no crying in baseball moment.

The ended up doing some far grafting (liposuction) from my stomach to make things a little more natural looking. I encouraged her to take more than she needed, hoping she did. There has to be some benefit in getting breast cancer!

I was home by 4:30 yesterday, and am now being well taken care of by Dr. Noe. He’s very bossy, but I’m grateful. Pain is minimal. The worse part is that I’m wearing a corset on my stomach and chest for the next two weeks. I’m going to look at this as waist training and again, come out several pounds smaller! This is the year of transformation so I’m going with it!

Thank you for the prayers, love and checking in on me! I sure do feel all the love and am honored. Post op is March 4th. if there is any update, I’ll post. But, perhaps this will be the last post?

Get your mammograms! Tell your friends, family, co-workers and strangers. It can save your life.

Love,
Wendy
