Jeffrey Macklin Jones, age 71, of Delaware, passed peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jeff and his wife of 24 years, Trish Jones, worked side by side in the operations of her hair salon in Dublin, “Trish Jones Hair Design.” Essentially, Jeff ran the business and Trish did the hair! Prior to working with his wife, he owned Jones Garage Door Service and Jones Trucking.
Jeff was a 1970 graduate of Logan Elm High School, where he ran track and played on the basketball team. As a youth, he developed his incredible work ethic while helping with his family’s business, “Jones Hardware and Grocery” in Tarlton, Ohio.
He had a passion for the outdoors and especially loved bird watching, camping, hiking, RVing, target practice, boating and raising a glass. When he wasn’t exploring nature on foot, he was loving the outdoors while riding his Harley Davidson. Above all, he was known to be the happiest just doing something for another person. His truest passion was in service above self.
Jeff was born May 22, 1952 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Nelson and Anne Macklin Jones. He was also preceded in death by his Aunt Louise Mathews.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Trish Jones, (Patricia Rowe VanSickle); his children: Julie (Rich) Hunt, Marissa (Kyle) Lockard and Andrew “Drew” (Alicia) Jones: his step-children, Joanna (Sean) Walt and Jared VanSickle; his grandchildren: Mitchell and Evy Hunt, Macklin Lockard, Jameson Walt; his sister: Connie Herbert; his in-laws: Diana (John) Snider, Carol (Yohanan) Herbst, Barb (Arnie McBride) Rowe and Steve (Donna) Rowe; and many other relatives and friends, including Jason Herbert, Erin Crouch, Cindy Goeller and his former wife, Kathy Jones.
In celebration of Jeff’s life, his family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Concord Township Community Building, 6385 Home Rd., Delaware, Ohio. A private interment will be held at Oller Cemetery.

Memorial contribution envelopes will be available during calling hours if desired.
