We've been holding our breath for this day, as Wells returned to UMC for his sinus neurosurgery follow-up CT, X-Ray and physician consult. Charles and I stayed on pins and needles throughout the morning awaiting news.
At 1:22 pm today, Wells texted this message: "
Air bubble is gone, blood clot in brain is dissolving. X-ray and CT looked good enough to ditch the neck brace, and sinus graft appears to be holding and scaring over well." Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, 4th of July, etc. for years to come! Tomorrow, Wells will start Quest outpatient therapy, Methodist Rehab's program to help patients return to work, driving, and normality. And we will all celebrate the most joyous holiday season ever -- while waiting for daughter Laura's baby due THIS SATURDAY! (Tue morn update - Laura is in labor at the hospital in Denver!) Thanks again to each of you for sharing this journey with us; we could NOT have done it without you!
Sending love and gratitude for the Season to all, and an Irish Christmas blessing for extra measure. Thanks be to God!
The light of the
Christmas star to you.
