Hank had his semi-annual heart check up today and did great! It’s crazy to think just two years ago as a newborn and again as a 6 month old he underwent two major heart surgeries, battled a nasty surgical infection, and spent months in the hospital battling to heal and now he is (basically) a normal 2.5 year old running, climbing, jumping and getting into all the trouble a 2 year old can.
At the appointment Dr. Christiansen said Hank was doing great. His blood pressures are looking fantastic so we are just planning on letting him “grow out” of his blood pressure meds in hope he will be able to stop taking them eventually and his Aortic arch repair looks awesome as well! They are still keeping an eye on his aortic valve, but it remains about the same which they are happy with at this time. We will continue to follow up every 6 months and hope we continue on a good trajectory.
