Journal entry by David Ingalls

At 10:00 AM yesterday (7/27), Dad was released from the hospital. He is a very grateful, and has a new outlook on life. We all know that statically he shouldn't be here with us, which makes it even more special. I don't know anyone else who could have made it though what he just has. His story is almost unbelievable.

Dad will have outpatient physical therapy in Sioux Falls two times a week. I'm guessing that in about 3-4 weeks, he will be all done with therapy and he will head back to his farm full time. He is really looking forward to mowing his lawn and just enjoying life in general.

He still has a ways to go but will certainly get there. His strength, balance, agility, and reaction time are not quite back to 100% yet. His normal voice is still a couple months away as well. He will be there soon.

The therapists only worry is that he will try to push too hard too fast... dad did over 7000 steps on Wednesday (I'm not certain I got that many that day). He needs to slow down a bit. He needs to be cautious. He needs to be careful and make sure he doesn't fall as he is on some pretty potent blood thinners, etc...

We are blessed and happy to have more time with our dad/son/nephew/brother/uncle/cousin/neighbor/friend

Thanks for all of your love, prayers, support, and words of encouragement. It all helped get us to here. Please continue to keep Wayne in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to heal his heart and brain back to a full recovery.
