Hey Everyone,
It has been a few days since I’ve been able to send out an update. I’ll try and give you the latest before moving on to other things I need to get done this morning :)
Dad was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday. Praise God! He is walking well with a walker and will continue outpatient therapy. Please continue to pray for his quick recovery so he can tend to mother more and more each day.
Mom has made great strides towards recovery but will need more time. Because of her broken hip she will have an external fixature for about 8 weeks and will be unable to walk, per doc’s orders. She will be able to shift her wait in and out of the bed to a chair or wheelchair. Due to her Alzheimer’s this is the tricky part. We need additional skilled care as she recovers and was discharged from the hospital to a Skilled Nursing Facility. I still praise God because last week we had no idea what her projection would be and has come farther than her doctors expected!
Please continue to pray for us. My sisters and I are taking turns to be caregivers, chauffeurs, admin assistance, mental support, etc. etc. I was able to return home yesterday evening and will see how things go before deciding when I will return. I hope that I can wait until I finish my fall semester of online courses before returning.
I thank you for everyone’s emails and prayers I have received. It has been a blessing and they have encouraged me grately.
