Newest Update

Journal entry by Jennifer Mooney

Monday morning update:

We've all heard the sayings about making plans and then watch what God does! Well, I posted last night and changing it this morning! But we got snow ❄️❄️❄️❄️ 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Mom called this morning to see if they were open, and they are closing before her appt. They will call her back as soon as they are back open and get her in. So radiation is on a brief hold and she said she is ok with that!

Original post from Sunday night:

A quickie update!

Mom's first day of the new radiation is finally here and she starts tomorrow! The "emergency" MRI took 2 weeks to have done. I, for one, was quite ticked that it took so long for the MRI as that just gives this beast of a mess more time to grow. But thankfully the MRI showed no growth during those 2 weeks! Huge relief!! Yet another one of my lessons in faith and trust.

Once the MRI was completed, the body mold for her radiation could be made. And then finally her first appointment was scheduled.

She will go every other weekday for 5 times (M,W,F,M,W), and while she is there for her 5th treatment, they will do a quick scan to see if they think they should do more or be done. The radiation will continue to work on the tumor for about 4 weeks after the last treatment, so they will do a CT scan at 6 weeks and the hope is that it will be gone! Wack-a-mole is in session!

Chemo will be put on hold until after the radiation is complete, but she is still recovering from her chemo this past Wednesday, and the radiation isn't expected to be forgiving. Please pray for her body to rest as often as possible so it can do its job, for nausea to be controlled, for the burning sensation from the radiation to be minimal and even absent, and for this tumor to be completely gone after all this. Pray also for the neuropathy that continues in her feet. Thank you all, once again, for your faithfulness! Much love to all of you!
