Walt’s Story

Site created on July 9, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate you all being a part of "Walt's Army" of Prayer Warriors.

No one has lifted more people up than our great friend, Walt.  Now it’s our turn to support him and his fight in the ICU with double pneumonia and covid.  We have comfort placing this great burden on our Great God as we pray to heal and strengthen his ability to breathe.

Please show your support for him, Jamie, and the rest of his family by sharing your prayers or cheerful stories of how Walt has affected your life.

Walt’s Story:

Walt Harber grew up in Elizabethton Tennesse. He had one older brother. He played football and baseball in high school. His dad worked for the TVA in East Tennessee.

Walt attended a local college and then went on to dental and orthodontic school at the university of Tennessee in Memphis. Following orthodontic school, Walt served in the Navy for 2 years and then he set up his practice in Johnson City Tennessee and two branch offices in Virginia.

After raising five children, four girls and one boy. He retired to Naples Florida to a home he had previously vacationed.

Walt gave his life to Jesus at an evangelistic outreach as a young man and it has become the center of his life ever since. He and his wife Jamie have supported multiple ministries for years. Walt Harber is one of the most generous men anyone would ever know and his desire to take people to heaven with him is his primary focus .

Journal entry by Jamie Harber

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”
‭‭James‬ ‭5:13-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Thank you, prayer warrior friends, for praying for Walt and his family during his illness and recovery. We appreciate all the food, visits, phone calls, and emails. The prayers were answered in a mighty and obvious way. Walt is feeling so much better and is gaining weight and strength. God is so Good and Great!  We are blessed by your friendship.
Will you please pray for our friend, Cindy, who is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer?
