Journal entry by Patti Nash

Dear Ones,

I'll be returning to a full-time work schedule soon after having taken family medical leave to companion with Walter through his cancer treatments. He is doing much better, but he still is not up for any of his typical athletic pursuits like hiking, cycling, pickleball, etc.

He has officially retired from his job, and he is interested in connecting with other retired people during the day (no evenings! Bedtime is 7:30 p.m. at our house) to play cards (he loves pinochle, hearts, spades), discuss astrology, take brief, low-exertion field trips, or (choose your adventure).

I'm not sure how to hook into social activities for retired folks in Fort Collins, so any suggestions are welcome. I'm sad to leave my wonderful husband home alone, so would love to know he has his own activities and a growing network.

Mondays and Fridays are ideal days for him to add in a social engagement. He is willing to host at our home or drive to destinations in Fort Collins.

Love, Patti
