Journal entry by becky glatz

Wally has been very ill the past few months.  The 12th of March he was taken to the local hospital by ambulance because he was so sick and throwing up.  He got to the hospital and they diagnosed him as having a stroke due to Afib.  He was in the hospital until March 19th.  The following week he started In patient therapy and after about six weeks he was able to do Out patient.  He was able to transfer from his wheel chair to the bed, the car, his living room chair, the bathroom and his electric wheel chair.  On June 12th he woke up in the middle of the night and could not breathe.  (he does have COPD so I thought that was the problem).  Again he went to the hospital by ambulance.  This time he was diagnosed with a pneumonia.  Later, after all blood work came back they found he had two different bacterial infections one in his lungs and one in his bladder.  They discharged him Wednesday at which time he was sent to a Nursing Home/ Rehab center in Chisholm.  Again he cannot transfer himself and they have to use a lift to move him.  We are hoping they work wonders so he can again transfer and come home.  The home is called Heritage Manor.  I know he would enjoy hearing from his friends.  Keep him in your prayers.
