She never has been a big napper, but now she officially dropped her small nap, so she doesn’t nap at all anymore.
Something has been bothering her the past few months. I feel sad for her, and it’s tiresome and worrisome for us. Some mornings she will wake up a few hours early shrieking, arching her back in pain, shaking her fists, and crying. Cuddling and pain meds don’t help, and she will do this for up to an hour. We showed the epileptologist a video, and he said it is not a seizure. Other days she will fuss throughout the day, which is not like her. Something doesn’t feel right with her, and I wish she could tell me what bothers her or at least point so I can help.
She has been prone to getting frequent ear infections, so we wonder if the pain has to do with that. She had surgery this week to get ear tubes, which will help prevent ear infections and fluid buildup. Hopefully this helps with her unexplained pain. If it doesn’t, we will continue to brainstorm. Ears? Constipation? Gas? Boredom? Teeth? New norm?
This month is busy. She has over 40 appointments, which include her going to another semester of her intensive therapy school, the Conductive Learning Center! This is the one where she goes for four weeks, five days a week, for three hours a day. There are three other kids in her class including one who was in her last class. So far she is rocking it! She smiles as she works hard. I am so proud of her.
Since she is non-weight bearing (not standing on her own and walking), her neurodevelopmental doctor wanted us to get x-rays of her spine and hips to see how they’re doing, and also to get a baseline for comparison for future x-rays. They evaluated them, and so far everything looks good.
Clapping is currently her favorite activity. She loves it when someone greets her with clapping, and she will clap back!
