Journal entry by Chad Steger

On Thursday, May 30th, 2019 we said goodbye to our Sweet Baby Viona at Joy Lutheran Church in Prescott. Pastor Scott Stai from Jenna's hometown church, Hope Lutheran, performed a beautiful funeral ceremony. We had a Visitation from 11-1 where we got to share hugs, tears and smiles with many of our closest family and friends. At 1:00pm the funeral started. The sermon was touching and the words that Viona's Uncle Brock spoke couldn't have been more true. We ended the funeral with a solo of Liivi singing "Jesus Loves Me" and "You Are My Sunshine" that Jenna had recorded back in December and February of Liivi singing to Viona while she was still in the womb. After placing Viona's casket in the back of the vehicle, we had a balloon launch, letting Liivi release a balloon up to Heaven for Viona to hold and we were all given roses to lay on Viona's casket.

We have so many people to thank for such a beautiful and memorable day. Thank you Joy Lutheran Church for welcoming us in and allowing us to hold Viona's service there, for helping with the food and providing the wonderful deserts. Thank you Pastor Scott for traveling to Prescott and for putting together such a memorable service. Thank you Amy Hildebrant for providing wonderful food for our guests, having time to visit and reminisce with family while we ate was part of the healing process. Thank you Ptacek's IGA for the beautiful flowers. Thank you to O'Connell-Benedict Funeral Homes, especially Lisa, for coordinating such a memorable day for us. Your professionalism and compassion was everything we needed to get through the day. You made our girl beautiful and peaceful and gave her everything she deserved. Lastly, thank you to all of our friends and family- the thoughts, prayers, visits, hugs, tears, laughs, food, gifts, flowers, plants and everything else that you have done for us over the last two months have been greatly appreciated.
We will never forget the last few months, the last few days, the last few moments. Viona will live with us, in our hearts, forever.
Thank you.
