It is with a sad heart that I share the latest update.

On Sunday, October 13th, Vicky took her last breaths. She went peacefully in the early morning, with John, Sean, and Liz close by. She was in no pain, and she is finally able to rest. 

Yesterday was exactly 7 months to the day that she found out that she had a brain tumor...and at that time, we had not yet found out the depth of her true diagnosis.  Glioblastoma is a cancer that takes both your strength and mind away as it works through your brain, and Mom fought it valiantly - always believing that she might be able to beat it or keep it at bay a little longer.  The treatments were hard, but she had the best spirit through it all.

If anything, yesterday gives all of us left behind the peace of knowing that she doesn't need to fight anymore.  I hope that she has an endless glass of pinot noir with her in heaven.

Final arrangements to celebrate Vicky's life will take place Thursday, October 17th and Friday, October 18th.
