Journal
So our GBS journey comes to the end of its first year. To say the least, it has not been an easy year! But your support, love, & prayers have made it better than we could have imagined. We don't have the words to tell you how grateful that we are. But once again, "Thank you!" are the best words we have for everyone's support. Vickie's progress has been slow but steady these past months. She continues to improve walking with a walker (she has even been in the pool a few times this past month and we hope to officially start Aqua-Therapy soon!). This has given her the mobility to get out more often, and to do more and more activities. The latest highlight was on Monday, December the 9th when we were able to walk together on the beach in St Augustine, Florida (see attached photo). It was a goal that she had set for herself back in April. It was an amazing, and very emotional moment! Speaking of emotions, Vickie is now "off of almost all" of her meds! This has freed her up to be much more emotionally expressive, which we think has been good for her and an important part of her recovery process. We also want to give praise and thanks to our great God for His faithfulness to us through all of 2019. Even when we didn't understand why we were going through this, we continued to trust in His Faithfulness. God has also blessed us with amazing support from our children! All 7 of them (yes we include you son-in-laws in that number!) have really stepped up and helped us beyond what we could have asked for (see second attached photo of our latest "family shot"). Finally, from all of us, thanks again for all the love, support, and prayers. The way that you have followed our story and kept up with us has shown us love that continues to sustain and encourage us. We love you! - Dan & Vickie
