Journal entry by Veronica Gliatti —
Wow, it has been a month since I posted anything on here. I guess that is a good thing, for those burnt out by reading my posts! LOL! I am close now to the finish line for chemo, end of this month, it should be in my rearview mirror. Then all I have to do is finish immunotherapy (June 2024).
Health: I did manage to catch COVID from my husband. He had attended his sister Mary Lou Coad’s funeral in Buffalo and came back sick. His case was worse than mine. A few of my side effects have worsened the last month from the chemo drug but I am not dwelling on it as it will soon be over. I can't say, though, it's been fun.
I included a picture of a few of the gifts and cards I have received of late. Never ever will I forget the outpouring of love during this battle, even from those far away (out of the country), those acquaintances, high school friends from the wonderful class of 78 from Stebbins High School, neighbors, close friends, family, so many to list - please forgive me if you are not included here but know, in my heart, you reside there. Your kindness was so uplifting!
I have had more reflection time and have decided I refuse to live my life in fear of it returning, no matter the odds. I owe it to my family, friends and those I come in contact with to remain true to myself, positive, full of life, love and joy. And to those that reach out to me with a recent cancer diagnosis, I say the same. God gives us a time to be on earth to make a handprint. May yours reflect all the good in you and in others!
