Newest Update

Journal entry by Eddie Mullison

Hello, from sunny (& hot) Cary, North Carolina.

Many people have been following Verona’s miraculous journey, which continues. She has almost completely recovered from her fall and break in January, 2022, but her strength (weakness due to the bacterial Meningitis) and balance following the original operation(s) remain an issue. She is, however, really gaining on her ability to keep her balance (& 100% loss of hearing in her left ear due to the original brain tumor operation) around the house and is working hard on compensating with her vision / eyes. She experiences almost no pain, for which we are thankful, but continues to be plagued by weakness (and maybe the fact that we're getting older!) Settling-in to our new home in North Carolina (more, below) is going slowly, but nearly every day we unpack a few more boxes, & try driving around the area to different stores as we set up a new home. Pictures on the walls and books on the bookshelves will take a while but we're headed there! In the midst of all this, we are thankful Verona is on the mend from her fall in January, her strength, and with her balance. Thank you for your prayers too!

Prayer Requests & Praises:

Praise: The move to North Carolina to be nearer family went well. Some of this may be a repeat to what some have already learned, but some people will be reached by this CaringBridge entry also. If a fuller account of our move is desired, contact me at <eddie.mullison@gmail.com> and I will send it to you. We have retired "Staff Emeritus" from Cru / Campus Crusade for Christ, but as I have said before, we have not retired from the Kingdom!

[Our snail-mail (mailing address) is: 245 Murray Glen Dr., Cary, NC 27519-8881.

Our phone #'s & emails will remain the same:
E: 303-549-8827, V: 303-552-6427), as well as our email addresses:
E: eddie.mullison@cru.org, eddie.mullison@gmail.com
V: verona.mullison@cru.org, verona.mullison@gmail.com

We do, however, prefer that our personal email addresses be used for personal correspondence, so please update your records if necessary.

We left both cars in Colorado and will get another here. We're still looking for things in the many as-yet unpacked boxes, but the coffee maker was finally found, so all is good! And something that (SOME) Aussie friends will appreciate is that the Vegemite (Eddie's, Verona reminds me) made the journey intact!

Pray for Verona's continued growth in strength and balance. She continues to develop in strength and balance, and shortly before we left Denver, attended one meeting of our church home group - it had been a year and a half! She was wiped out afterwards, but enjoyed it.

Pray & Praise for our gradual involvement in the local church – as to timing and what that will look like. Last weekend we went to church for the first time in about a year and a half. since Verona's miraculous journey began. Mostly we have "attended church" online.

Please Pray for us in this new phase of our lives. In many ways, Verona's illness, our retirement, and the move have reminded me of entering a new culture. Almost everything's new.

Again, thank you for your calls, notes, and prayers!

Eddie
