Journal entry by Vernetta Dummann

It has been a month now since I left North Ridge. I have gained strength and some good sleep. There is nothing like being home and being with family again in person instead of on a phone or through a window. I have had my visits with occupational and physical therapy and nurses. My knees are stronger but it is not to say without some pain but it is so nice to be able to walk. My new railing and bathtub grab bars make those movements better. I am not driving my car but rely upon Michelle for my travel. I miss being able to step on a stool to reach higher shelves or carry my laundry up the stairs or get in the car to shop for necessities or pull the myriad of weeds that grow so healthily but hope that some day I can return to “normal”. I have also been blessed to have Gabby here, wonderful granddaughter that can drive and cook!! Granddaughter Taylor has been here to be a gopher (go for) to help out and just be here “in case” of need and give me good back rubs. That is not to say the grateful care from Michelle and the time and help she has given me along with Sandi when she was here. Again, I thank all of you who have followed my story of life  (really don’t like that “journey” that is on sympathy cards) and have sent me cards and prayed so much for me. I am still me, a bit lighter and with a lot less hair...been told stress will do that, but I am here and thank God for that and you! Vernetta
