Journal entry by Valerie Shane

It has been a while since I last shared.   Alot has happened since my last post.   My cancer had gone into remission for a short while, but in 2020 flared it's ugly head.   I had to go back on my chemo and began losing my hair again. So I had my hair cut short to keep it from falling out so fast.   It looks ok, but I still hate it.   I want my hair back!  On July 2,2020, Michael and I were walking our dog Boomer when I took Boomer out to the field leaving Michael on the road,  due to him being night blind.   When our neighbor shot off fireworks over our heads startling Boomer,  where he pulled me to the ground landing completely on my right side,  hittling my head as well.  I screamed for Michael to come help me up.   I had to keep yelling so Michael could find me.   I was in tears,  Boomer was at the house waiting.   Michael wanted me to go to the hospital which I highly argued then gave in and found out I fractured my hip and had to stay off it.   After 2 months with no healing my oncologist at ctca ordered an mri, this showed there were 3 fracture and a stress fracture,  it mimicked none cancer so I underwent a biopsy.   Thank God it came back negative for bone cancer.   But since it wasn't healing the orthopedic oncologist suggested that I have a rod and screws put in,  which I did.   My chemo has to be heald until I heal as it hindered the healing process.   Now I am in physical therapy,  doing well,  hoping to get off my walker.   It has been 4 months now.   I go back in Dec just before Christmas to see where I am and when I can start back on chemo or if I went into remission.   I want to thank you for your donation in helping our family.   All these trips drain us financially. So I am praying for a miracle both financial and especially to go into remission. Thank you for all your help and prayers.
