Hi, all. Just wanted to share reminders about Mom's memorial this Friday, February 9.

 

The funeral will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 12:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The address is 4257 Brambleton Ave, Roanoke, VA 24018.

 

Following a private graveside service, we invite all friends and family to join us at a true celebration of Mom's life. We'll be playing her favorite music and telling the best stories of her life -- including some we probably shouldn't share in a chapel setting if you know what I mean. There will be food and drinks (including some we probably shouldn't share in a chapel setting...ahem). It's something Mom talked about wanting for years and an occasion where we hope to laugh until we cry until we laugh again.

 

That celebration is from 3-6 p.m. at Elks Lodge 197, 1147 Persinger Rd SW, Roanoke, VA 24015.

 

The Elks have been lovely to work with and we're so grateful for the use of their space. They have asked us to keep a guest list and while you aren't required to RSVP, doing so in advance (even if you think you might just stop by briefly) will help us speed things up a bit.
