Newest Update

Journal entry by Jessica Birge

This will likely be my last update to you all. My sister and I have been surrounded by so many kind, loving, supportive people who have helped us through this journey. We cannot say thank you enough for all the ways people have helped us. We appreciate all the continued prayers. We could not have gone through these last two weeks without our amazing husbands who have been so incredibly supportive. Many have asked about memorial/funeral services for our mom. Mom was adamant that she did not want a service, instead her request was to be cremated and buried with her parents in Missouri. When time allows, weather is better, and Covid is not such a pressing issue we intend to plan a family memorial gathering to lay her at her final resting place. Many have asked how they can show support in the absence of a service, we ask that if you would like to contribute in some way, please donate to a breast cancer research group of your choice in her name. Our mom was treated at IU Health Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis and due their extensive cancer research program she was able to participate in 2 different research trials. Her care at this facility was unparalleled. We think this is a great place to contribute to if you feel compelled to do so. Again, thank you all so much for being so invested in our mom, sharing your amazing stories and memories, and for the prayers. This has been a hard journey for us, we try to remember we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, and we know we will not be walking alone in the coming weeks and months.
