Journal entry by Sam Marx —
Today was an overall good day for Abbey. We had to have blood cultures drawn last night so we are awaiting that result before she can go home. Unfortunately with it, they decided to add another IV line “just in case” so the poor girl has one in each arm. It made doing activities difficult today, but her mood was mostly good. You can tell she is very ready to go home and stop being messed with. Her side eye to the nurses is priceless, but in true Abs fashion, she is everyone’s favorite.
Good news is that her COTA site went live today, so we will be moving all of her journal entries over to that site. Our head fundraising advocate is Abbey’s aunt Ramia. Thank you Ramia for leading this charge.
Please visit her site and subscribe for further information as well. In addition to it being a one stop for updates and fundraising, COTA is a non profit and qualifies for the funds to be non-taxable for Abbey and it follows her for life. It also qualifies as a tax write off for the donators. Good things all around. We will be discontinuing her Give a Hand as well and moving it all to COTA. Love you all!
