His artistic ability he gets from his mother. The necessity for symmetry he gets from me.
Back to the hospital for chemotherapy today and another spinal tap. Today was the first time Truman let me accompany him to the operating room and was disappointed not to be able to show me all the gadgets and screens in the normal room since we were in a different part of the hospital. I was very happy that he chose me to accompany since this is usually a mom-only affair. The chemo regiment this week is the same as last week. The first round of really nasty stuff today followed by injections for the remaining days of the week. We are remaining very vigilant for nausea. The nausea episode of last week will not be repeated if I can control it. I feel like we’re told every round of the chemotherapy cycles lessen in severity and effect, but it occurs to me the opposite is happening. Perhaps we have been become acutely sensitive to Truman’s mental and physical changes. Either way, it is all less than pleasant for Truman.
