Journal entry by Trudy Cummings —
Today I am grateful for a good MRI report! It confirmed the tumor was still in the same spot and still small.
I met with my breast care surgeon and decided to do a lumpectomy. I will get that procedure done in June. My doctor said when they check lymph nodes in my armpit area (during surgery) if there are more “positive ones” they will have to take more lymph nodes and that may involve an overnight hospitalization. So praying the lymph nodes are negative.
This has been a roller coaster of emotions and thankful to have people praying for me and believing that cancer will not have the final word.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
-Isaiah 43:2-3
i am reminded through reading this all who is praying and serving us through this season and how yes it has been very challenging and this chemo round I have felt very sick, I am going thru the rivers, but they aren’t sweeping over me. I’m walking thru the fire but am not burned. God is with me and showing that in this season where everything is stripped away, Jesus is my savior, my only hope!🩷
