Journal entry by Trisha Walls —
It's a good thing I had surgery because I had an infection around the expander! The doctor was able to remove the expander, all the infected tissue and fix the incision that didn't heal. I am a 10 day round of antibiotics. My right side was very swollen, retaining fluid, and uncomfortable. It now feels so much better. The left side was re-lifted to help with symmetry. I have only had some mild discomfort.
Finger crossed this will be the last major thing checked off the list of breast cancer. Next up, having an ultrasound of my Parotid Gland on June 12th and hopefully having it removed this summer.
Only 10 days of school left and I am ready for a break from writing sub plans!
Love to all,
Trisha
