Friends and family,
I wanted to share one last update, then I will be taking a break from posting for a while. It has been 12 days since Trip went to Heaven. Our grief is still very fresh and raw. We have loved all of the cards, flowers, texts, front porch “happies”, calls, etc. The family and I are still processing all that happened over the past year. Grief is a funny thing. One minute we are moving along happily, then BAM- the emotions hit like a tidal wave when least expected. Trying to figure out life without Trip feels impossible at times. School, sports, and friend time have all been positive distractions for the boys. Micah, Sam, and I have continued our late night talks which have been SO good for us. We are thankful for our faith and the huge family of believers who surround us.
I’ve said many times how difficult and overwhelming it is to be on the receiving end of so many fundraisers and acts of kindness. It’s humbling and hard to accept (I’ve been coached to just “receive the blessing”). You all have shown me how to love and support someone who is suffering. When the time is right for me, I look forward to mirroring your generosity and offering MY support to others. Thank you for loving us so well.
The Riverchase Together golf tournament that was originally scheduled for April 2020, will take place on Monday, 8/31/20. Proceeds will benefit the UAB comprehensive Cancer Center and our family. There’s so much research needed in order to find a cure for glioblastoma. If you feel led to give, I have attached a link in the photos below with information.
We still feel your prayers and positivity. Many prayers (big and small) are being answered daily. Please continue to pray for our peace and healing. Pray the boys will always feel as loved and supported in the future as they do now. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything from the bottom of my heart.
Love to all,
