Tracy’s Story

Site created on January 17, 2020

On December 28, 2019 Tracy was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  This started with pain in her abdomen and back and difficulty eating. She went to urgent care because of these symptoms. The urgent care center sent her to the hospital for scans.  Wellstar Kennestone ran multiple tests and scans. All confirmed a 3 cm mass on her pancreas and lesions on her liver. After speaking to the oncologist at Kennestone, Tracy decided to travel to MD Anderson for a second opinion.

The Lord gives strength to his people. The Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalms 29:11

Yesterday mom was admitted to Emory Johns Creek Hospital with pain and fluid in her abdomen. Long story short, the cancer is keeping her liver from functioning properly; therefore, causing fluid in her abdomen. She had a CT scan which thankfully showed no new growth in her abdomen.

Today she had a Paracentesis procedure. This is where they go in and drain the fluid out of the abdomen. She immediately felt less pressure and pain after the procedure. She is still having horrible pain in her back (which is from the cancer). We are working with the radiology department trying to get her scheduled for a nerve block to help with the pain next week.  We are hoping she will be released tomorrow.

Thank you for the continue prayers and support. We continue to trust in Him and His will.
