Tracey’s Story

Site created on July 26, 2022

Dear Family and Friends,

We are using this site to keep everyone updated.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

On July 25th, Tracey suffered a major aneurism rupture and is at Lutheran General hospital in Park Ridge, IL.   She has undergone surgery and will be in the neuro-ICU for a minimum of 3 weeks.  This situation is one day at a time.   My family and I have set up this site to keep everyone up to date as information is being relayed to us.   Our primary goal is to remain present for Tracey's care and recovery.

We must keep her beloved business, Tracey Ford Voice, thriving through this very difficult time.

There has been a Go-Fund-Me page set up because there will be significant medical expenses as well as major loss in income since Tracey is self-employed.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Andrea Ford

I have been wanting to update thoroughly for some time.  Things are just constantly so busy and when I accomplish a few things, I feel like I want to nap for days but of course that is not possible.

So we have passed the 19 month mark.  Things for Tracey have been really tough emotionally lately.  She is not feeling mentally strong and she still has to work so hard at therapies.  We are hoping to get her on the right meds to help mood but it has been challenging with a transition to mediCAL.  It was definitely not anything even close to dealing with Illinois because I just never made anything happen there with Medicaid. But the MediCAL really didn’t take long, just following up and making many calls. We had to first establish care with the primary 2 weeks ago.  She put in for the PT, OT, Speech, Cardio, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsych, Psych, Behavioral Med and 5 have been processed but we are waiting on all the neuro still.

Tracey continues at the non- profit Neurolab and they have scholarshipped her to reduce the cost so that she can continue.  She is doing great work there.

We recently had a very sad situation as our caregiver stole over $6000 in items from my home.  We have been angry and totally disgusted and disheartened but we quickly found a new caregiver who is wonderful.

I am tired. I have dropped the ball on some things.  Like Tracey, I also need prayers for mental strength.

Tracey would love to hear from people.  She is very lonely and sad.  Text me if you would like to schedule a call with Tracey:  858-539-9025

Cards would be great too.  She loves getting cards!

We are trying to teach her how to use her phone so hopefully soon she will be able to reach out to people!

We could not be more grateful for everyone’s support. I do not know where we would be without you all!

Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
