Tony’s Story

Site created on May 1, 2022

In April, 2019, Tony was diagnosed with stage 4 neck, throat, and lung cancer. Given the urgency of two different types of cancer spreading throughout these areas, he knew the path forward would be a difficult one. However, he was ready to jump in for all necessary treatments. This included two months of chemotherapy and radiation. The treatment plan, although grueling, was successful in eliminating the tumors in the throat and neck and reducing the size of the tumors in the lungs. He has continued to have monthly immunotherapy to keep the lung cancer small and manageable. Once he was able to "ring the cancer bell" in 2019, he got back to lots and lots of walking, traveling to Florida, and spending time at Taco Tuesday with his friends. Life had been a new version of normal. However, within the past two months, he began experiencing pain in his neck once again and after a recent scan, it was confirmed that cancer had returned to his neck. This site is intended to provide updates on the new journey he has ahead of him, while also allowing for his amazing network of loving family and friends to share well wishes and support.
