Journal entry by Jordan Fowler

Today is a good day! My dad (Tony DeNucci) gets to come home! He was released from the hospital yesterday, just 1 day after surgery! He's doing well. Trying to keep his pain managed. He's a trooper that's for sure! They will have a long ride home due to stopping every so often for my dad to get out and walk around. We got some more information on the cancer since they removed it and tested it. It is clear cell renal carcinoma. Grade 3 stage 2. Grade is how aggresive the cancer is and stage is the size and if it has spread. They don't believe it has spread anywhere else in his body. Will be doing more testing. His surrounding lymph nodes came back negative which is amazing! While doing surgery his kidney was stuck to his pancreas and that is why surgery had taken a little longer than anticipated. He will be having some more tests in 3 months to see if the cancer is genetic or not. This is a long one but we finally got all the information we were looking for! Thank you for taking the time to read and thank you again for all the love and support! Safe travels to my dad, Naomi, Betty, and the boys as they make their way home!
