Journal
It has been so long since I have updated this site. I guess that's a good thing, right?
Dad has been doing amazing. He's out cutting grass (one of his favorite things to do), working on cornhole boards, and other fun projects around the house, and spending as much time possible with friends and family.
Looking back, his doctor originally thought he would only make it one year. Any day beyond that one year is truly a gift. As of his last scan, the doctor is nearly ready to declare Dad in remission! Cancer has shrunk to near nothing. Although he still suffers from back and leg pain, he will be getting injections to help alleviate the pain.
In two weeks, we will mark the 8-year anniversary of Mom's passing. It's difficult every year. However, with the love of my stepmom, Doreen, it gets easier. Dad has been so blessed by having two wonderful wives, and I have been blessed with both moms. Each mom has given me what I need in life: love, confidence, support, and faith, as well as a tremendous love for my Dad.
During the time we are in right now, it's so hard to show love like we used to. Hugging isn't encouraged, but we have broken that rule many times. As you know, my Dad is my HERO. God created the world's most amazing father, friend, grandpa and husband. I am one lucky daughter to have him in my life.
Blessed and grateful,
Lisa
