It’s been a month since Tom’s new life began, and he continues to make progress daily. His home health nurse, Angie, visits 1-2 times per week to address issues such as a home blood draw for labs, to closely watching Tom’s healing incisions and everything in between. She’s an extra set of eyes & ears for the doctors.
His physical therapist, Melissa works with him on strengthening exercises in addition to helping him more safely navigate our home and moving about when away from home. Today was a big day because for the first time since 7/6, Tom walked all the way upstairs & back down to check out the remodeling work. He liked it. 😊Another biggie-his Steroid med dropped from 6 tablets every morning to just 4-it’s the little things!
Now that Tom’s had four biopsies negative for organ rejection, these procedures and follow up clinic visits will now move to every other week. Next week he’ll have “just” labs in addition to the home health visits-we welcome the slower pace.
In just a few weeks, we’ll celebrate our oldest granddaughter’s 15th birthday, and then our oldest son’s 37th birthday-I’m so glad Tom is here for these special days! 💗🙏🏻
