UPDATE: Directly from Tom, here is what the week ahead holds for him. This is Tom speaking…
“Thanks everyone...and thanks too for deep sedation for the bone marrow biopsy. I’m undergoing these 3 days of testing to make sure I’m healthy enough for the transplant. Then a psycho-social assessment with the social worker.
I hope that being open with what is going on with me will in some way help others struggling with trying to have the best cancer care in this age of the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic has affected our ability to schedule and access care this past year and the patients that I interact with will certainly be happy when it is resolved.
All is going well with me...the meds do cause some side effects—fatigue, GI issues, skin problems, neuropathies, peripheral edema, anemia, electrolyte imbalances, but all are mostly controllable. You are all a God-sent blessing to me and I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your generosity. You will be in my continuing prayers.”
Please continue to donate if you are able.
Love to you all~Anne
