Journal entry by Tommy Walker —
Well folks, I was really hoping it was going to be a “boring” year, but at my last brain surgery follow up they discovered that the cancer has continued to spread in my brain. Damn!
Even though the medicine I’ve been on the past few months (Enhertu) was working in my lungs, it clearly isn’t working in my brain, so onward I go with yet ANOTHER new treatment regimen (I’ve lost count at this point. This might be number 7?) that supposedly can work better in the brain. I’m so grateful that with every setback we face, my medical team has a plan to tackle it. I’ll start these new meds soon. Hopefully they are tolerable and, more importantly, hopefully they work!
Also- tomorrow (Friday) I am going in for more brain radiation via a Gamma Knife procedure. I had this done last year, and I am hoping that it works even better this time. (I’ll gladly accept any prayers, good vibes, and humorous texts tomorrow morning!)
To be honest, I’m pretty exhausted at this point. Needless to say, this was not the news we were hoping for, and certainly was not expected. Let’s all cross our fingers that this newest regimen does the trick and hopefully the next update is filled with good news!
As always, Jessie and I thank you for your support as this battle continues.
Much love,
Tommy
