Sign In to Show Your SupportHey Everyone. We wanted to tell you about some important things coming soon for Tom, Jenn and their family.
First, an update on Tom. He just completed stem cell treatment last month with the hopes of slowing down the progression of the disease in his lungs and voice. The warmer weather makes them happy, Tom can now get in the pool and stand more to keep up the strength in his legs. He is using the ventilator more often which helps to keep his lungs strong.
Many of us have heard Tom and Jenn speak at various events like Motivated to Move last month (Jenn's speech is on the Live like Tom Instagram page if you would like to see it), Tom's speech at The Live Like Tom event this past November and on the podcast, Are you for Real with Sarah Frick. Their message is clear, they passiontely believe bringing awareness to ALS will bring change. Change will eventually bring a cure. For Love and Life: No Ordinary Campaign is a documentary about Brian Wallach, diagnosed with ALS seven years ago. It's about his journey living with ALS and his revolutionizing fight against this disease. This campaign is very near and dear to Tom and Jenn's hearts. Streaming on Prime this Tuesday May 28th, everyone should see this film. Below is the trailer and an emotional interview from the Today Show this past week.

Finally, June is Taco time. Tacos for Tom is a fundraiser dedicated to Tom and Project Mainstreet by Home Team BBQ. All month the Charleston HT stores will have a taco for Tom on the menu. 100% of the proceeds from the purchase of Tom's taco will go to the Hodges Family Trust and Project Mainstreet who help families just like Tom and Jenn's who face overwhelming needs and challenges that come with an ALS diagnosis.
For those of you that don't live in Charleston, there are ways to help from afar. Tacos for Tom, the Live Like Tom party and other efforts are the reasons Tom can continue to try experimental therapies like stem cell, have wonderful care takers at home and travel quarterly to see Tom's neurologist Merit Cudkowicz in Boston.
Live like Tom.
Watch For Love and Life: No Ordinary Campaign.
Eat a taco for Tom.
Love-
Tom, Jenn and Darby
